Re: Mark Ash - Magnetic Grooves Proton Radio 12-04-2008

Mark Ash started to show interest in music from an early age and it was only a matter of time till he started mixing different records he had been collecting, on a pair of decks he had at the age of 11. His DJ career started in a small club, on island called "Rab" back in 1996. At the same time he had his own electronic dance music show on a local radio called 'Arbassential', where he was hosting many local DJ's and producers. As soon as he moved to "Rijeka", he became a resident in Rijeka's most famous club "Fun Academy" (ex Quorum Colours), then laters on Mark was also holding a resident spot in club "Colosseum" and another monthly residency at one of the most exciting Thursday nights in Croatia called "Silence" in club "Hobbiton". Helped out alot in development of electronic music scene in his town thru some very well listened radio shows on Rijeka's local Radio stations. Founded the first Record Shop in Rijeka called Muzikum Record Store, where he raised lots of upcoming DJ's providing them with the best music on market. He is also a part of "BalanceFM" project alongside his best mate " Lemon". The duo’s arranging different parties around Croatia and making one of the most respectable names for themselves on the local Croatian night life scene.
Mark Ash had played in all major dance music events in Croatia, Slovenia, Italy & Germany: all "Rabac Summer Festival" in Croatia, few major events at Ambasada Gavioli in Slovenia, "MTV Carnival Party" in Rijeka, "Exotica", "Bedrock OS 0.1" Tour in Croatia (with Desyn Masiello), Yoshitoshi's "In House We Trust" 2, 3 & 4 Tours in Croatia, Villa Club in Udine, Climax Institutes in Stuttgart, Lucky Strike's Festival Der Sine, Love Academy's Ladies Night also in Stuttgart among many other big events. Mark had been asked to perform in a few fashion shows organized by young talented Croatian designers and also took part on "Red Bull" summer tour, taking him on coastal beaches around Rijeka-Croatia. As far he showcased his dj skills on "Alpe Adria Film Festival" at Teatro Miele - Italy. He has also succeeded to make a good reputation for himself in many clubs, playing along some of the world's most famous DJ's and Producers (the list is very long)...
His musical style moves from deep and groovy elements over electro and minimal to techy and progressive house sounds but as Mark says: "It has to touch your SOUL". Mark's passion and respect to music makes him a DJ to watch out for. He always stands out when he plays, mixing old, new and refreshing records and showing his ability to make any crowd dance to his sounds.
Mark is curently working on productions with his mates Lemon & Rubb Surr. In the mean time as they're working on their sound, a remix under “Arbassential“ guise (with Rubb Surr) for one of the best Croatian Guitar players HAL "Tonight, we dance" feat. Suzy Bogguss (Grammy Award Winner 2006) was launched on first Croatian lounge compilation “Dancing B(e)ar Lounge“ thru Dancing Bear Records finding itself on every Croatian radios playlist. January 2008 is set to launch his first appereance on vynil in colaboration with his friend Patrick Zigon “Balkan Knows“ on Zigon & Friends Collabo EP thru Puzzle Traxx. Watch out, cause next year could be a good jump off! In his free time he is editing lots of music, making them to suite his taste and style. In the day life, Mark co-owns & works in the biggest CD shop in Rijeka – Aquarius, what gives him the oportunity to learn & discover more about essences in all kinds of music geners, spreading his musical view widely. Mark Ash is a name to watch out for in the near future...!
