            Artist is the way to go
            as for downloads from the P&R section
            I build monthly folders, then have a sub folder
            favorite sets.

                downtempo
                minimal/tech-house
                progressive & house
                jazz
                classical

                works for me... needless to say, the minimal/tech-house section is sizable.

                    Most of the time I give up and tag them as Electronic ... so all my music's Electronic now, much good that does me when I'm trying to sort them to find something to listen to!

                    I haven't tag a file as Progressive in ages!

                        I was having the exact same problem the other day...for example Umek puts ALL his songs under "techno"???

                        I ended up making up a genre tech-house/progressive/minimal
                        And I was trying to fit my music into genres so that I can mix it more easily...I gave up in the end and just tried to organize it so it kinda feels/sounds nice together...mostly by listening to the type of base used in the song...fuk it there is no point trying to tie to genre as when they make it they don't sit and think ok now I am going to make some tech-house tunes...they just sit down and make whatever comes to mind.

                            i usually just use the tag that it gave me when I imported it into itunes. then I always just put it under a certain playlist anyway to clear up things.

                                    make an excel sheet. in there add whatever comments you want. sort them. do whatever you want. im currently working on this. inside of it i'll have when to cut in, cut out, bpm, everything you wanted to know. perhaps even if the guy that produced the track has a dog.
