Got a cracking show today with Alt*Ctrl member Dan Ousdine. Dan is one half of Alt*Ctrl (along with Dave Eserin), a London based duo putting out some seriously original sets at the moment. I have had the pleasure of watching Dan mature as a DJ over the past few years, and now I consider him (and Dave) to be two of the most exciting DJs around right now.
They play "electronic Bass Blips and Breaks bringing cutting edge Electro, Tech-House, Techno, Ragga, Acid, Yes-Core, No-Core, Up-Your-Mum-Core", which may seem like a mental mix, and it is, but some how they make it work, from 90bpm ragga to 150bpm electro it all has it's place. Miss this at your peril.

The Party Scene>>>>
ALT*CTRL is the colorful umbrella that shelters the scheming and alternative works of South London based duo David Eserin and Dan Ousdine. Starting life as a regular party ALT*CTRL sprung onto the scene in a small bar in Camberwell Green (home of the 'Camberwell Carrot'). The new monthly party was initially an outlet for the vast amount of equipment Dave was able to blag from his job as T-Scan editor for DJ Magazine. The first party saw the 150 capacity bar filled with a fuckin huge 6K Mackie Active rig with visuals beaming out from no less than three projectors and all the latest gizmos including Final Scratch.
David saw the party as the best possible way to exploit and at the same time test all the new gear on the market and at the same time putting time in at the studio with Dan to slowly start bass experimentations of their own. All the time pushing the party scene forward and teaming up with other promoters to put on cutting edge parties both musically and technologically.
Rapidly outgrowing the Funky Munky in Camberwell Green ALT*CTRL was scouted out by the legendary DogStar in Brixton and were invited to take on the first Saturday of the month for a new headline regular party. This new venture allowed ALT*CTRL to fully explore the visual element that has always played a massive part of their nights. Teaming up with old friends from the E&C studio days, collaborators Kurst were fully able to release their visual splendor on the public with multi screen projections transforming the venue. ALT*CTRL were firing, they had all the technology you could wave a stick at, had their own VJ team and were putting on some of the best DJs and VJs on offer in the underground electro and breaks scene.
Again outgrowing the DogStar and with the constant hunger for bigger and, more to the point, louder venues, ALT*CTRL is again relocating and this time to the larger 700 capacity Telegraph on Brixton Hill. After celebrating with an exclusive mailing list, invite only birthday party (for the regulars), the momentum is never ending. Regrouping and realigning ALT*CTRL crews have recovered and have setup battle plans for 2004 with a new monthly Friday night back at the mother ship Funky Munky in Camberwell on the second Friday of every month. And giving them plenty of time to ensure you thorough annihilation they have the new three monthly residency at The Telegraph. Just check out the following line up to see what is in store and make sure Saturday 17th July is firmly in your diary.
