There is so much wrong with this guys analysis, but I will restrict my comments to Israel and Hamas and that clown of an ex-president.
Carter has been shaking his booty in the region recently taking meeting with leaders of Hamas. Whilst some might applaud this man's intention, his results leave a lot to be desired.
Any conversations or agreements with Hamas are moot - regardless of whatever spin Carter put on it. After meeting in Syria with Hamas, Carter spoke about Hamas's willingness for a truce, or more specifically a Hudna.
Now this is all well and good should such a truce lead to eventual peace, but peace is impossible between Israel and Hamas. Not because Israel doesnt want peace, but according to the very charter that defines Hamas it is impossible. Article 13 of their Charter lays it out very clearly, it opening statement to article 13 is thus:
Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences, are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement. Abusing any part of Palestine is abuse directed against part of religion.
So in real terms what Hamas wants is a chance to re-arm and re-train via their Iranian benefactors.
Carter knows this. He knew this when he wrote his book Peace Not Apartheid. And he certainly knew this over the past ten or so years when he has pocket millions of dollars from Arabs who wish to destroy the state of Israel.
So, my dear American friends, your ex-president has achieved nothing more than showing the world what an idiot he is - although most of us realised that after his crushing defeat at the ballots by Regan.
