    calvin and hobbes

The last time I've read this stuff was many years ago. But now I've found some collections under my bed. And I have to admitt: tears are running down my face because of this great shit. Calvin and Hobbes have so much to say about living and life, there is so much truth, so many awesome plots and so much love in these books. These guys are real friends.

You have to check it out again

I think Calvin & Hobbes can be seen in the movie Fight Club. I loved that game they played (forgetting the name) where they made up the rules as they went along....
you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky

it's RA. they'd blow their load all over some stupid 20 minute loop of a snare if it had a quirky flange setting. - Tiddles

        ^Calvinball.

I friggen love these guys. I have all the collections have been rotating them through my bathroom as reading material for the past 15 years.

I have yet to find another cartoonist who can portray so much without using words. Some of Hobbes expressions were just so well drawn.

If you read cartoons, I would recommend Get Fuzzy. It also has some very strong characters whose individual personalties shine much like C&Hs.

It's never too late to become the person you always thought you would be.

You can find the whole archive online at Marcello's.

You can even download the zip file that contains all of them. I downloaded it not too long ago. Great stuff! Probably the funniest cartoon (imo).

Not to downplay Calvin and Hobbes, but Far Side? It has to be mentioned in Comic greatness. Gary Larson is a frickin genius.

Love Calvin & Hobbes. I'm still subsrcibed to the Daily C&H RSS feed for some good ol wacky poignant comic moments everyday. And I have the Complete C&H hardbacks sitting at home for my friend's daughter. No childhood is complete without C&H. Then you grow up and move on to Far Side and turn into a cynical bastard. But Far Side rocks too, was just having a craving for some Far Side the other day.

Foxtrot, no way. Don't get me wrong, its a fine cartoon strip on a once per day sort of basis. But if you read a foxtrot collection, it gets pretty pointless pretty quick and doesn't really portray youth and innocence the way C&H does. Its fine reading when you are dropping a deuce, but my foxtrot books were left behind years ago. Still carting my C&H books through every move I make .
