    Just conjecture!

Ok well i know digweed is still on top form - the easter bedrock party and transitions 4 can confirm that. Digweed@Crank next friday night - bring it on....

Not seen sasha DJ since the december 06 warehouse party in london.. but he stormed it there.

Re: Sasha & Digweed in PDX

i think the two of them have lost a lil somethin when they dj together.
it seems like more of a concert when they are together now rather than a "party"
even two years ago at space, miami they worked so fucking well together, but now it seems as if they contradict instead of compliment each others' styles.

that being said i am totally biased as a digweed fan and anyone who posts here regularly knows it.

Just read the beatportal review from the show last night in Oregon.

It says that there was hundreds of people sitting down watching the show. How lame is that. Glad I don't live in oregon

ya think? these two are used to playing 5 huor or so sets on their own.. and now thery are meant to be able to get into a gig knowing they arent even playing until 2 or 3? 2.5 hours.. just a thought, and i know they are professionals and should act/perform as such.. but thats kind of a let down just into it knowing they only have 2.5 hours and have to stop about the time they are normally just getting into it.. IMO

i wouldnt say "hundreds of people" were up there... i would say at max there were 50 people up there sitting in the chairs... and the upstairs was a 21+ lounge... so most of the people up there were drinking.

the dancefloor was packed from wall to wall.

after that 2.5 hour show, i would be really surprised if they ever come back to oregon again.

we just dont have a good venue that would compliment these two. no huge clubs... nothing.

Re: Sasha & Digweed in PDX

Gee ... I wonder why people were sitting ?!?

I was there dead smack center. The article from beatportal is a placid attempt to save the night. The guy is touring with the boys, you think he is going to call them out? Nope.

It was utterly lame and shameful. It simply was a disastrous night for the duo. Both Digweed and Sasha had no love, no passion, no nothing. They were up there for show, ghosts in a shell. No magic was instilled nor created. These are two of the biggest DJ's in the world, I stand corrected two of the biggest let downs. You crack every crowd, you take the people upstairs sitting and give them no option to stand and dance. There was nothing. They did not care.

Perhaps Portland was a reality check. Just because you are Sasha or Digweed does not mean you get a free ride. Granted, I hate the Roseland as a Venue there is no excuse for the Duo.

A shameful and ever reminding night that even the best need to perform and sometimes are challenged. I ain't gonna fluff this. It was a terrible night.

Maybe I am an old bitter man or maybe I am a huge fan that was let down by my two heroes.

That sucks you got an off night! Whenever you go to see your favorites it's not fun to be dissapointed. I can say I was dissapointed about Sasha not showing up in Toronto, but at least Diggers stepped up and delivered, but he had until 5am to do so!

considering the crowd smelled. most sat and watched, and they only could play till 1am wtf did you expect. my question is why bother playing in that town.

                        Lame justification Chuckc.

No matter the size of the crowd, the body oder, the venue, the city ... you rock it. I am not saying Portlandf is an EDM town, but it has it's dedicated fans. That is enough.

You rise to the challange and you leave your mark in 2.5 hours. That is all.

You dump the gasoline and light it ... only to leave and watch it burning.

there were hundreds of people on the dancefloor the entire time... moving with their hands in their air.

the entire 2.5 hours was a peak time set, i enjoyed every bit of it.

yes it was short lived, but u make with what you got.

starting to think you heard something very different than me =x

i cant sit still and listen to the complete write off of s&d.

you live in a place where EDM is not gonna go off for 49 hours like other cities. you should know what to expect. when the club closes at 1 and they didnt reach their "full potetnial" you should understand... NO SHIT!!! because they had less than 3 hours to work. For Fucks Sake it takes john a minimum of 3 hours to get going on his solo affairs. lets not even get in to calculations when they are both in attendance. be greatful for the time you had instead of standing there judging the entire event like a horse show. Ugh. dom, you of all people should know that seeing either of them in a different city where EDM is not on the forefront, that they're only gonna perform to their contractual standards.

                              offnight? probably

do they suck? together? well they aint what they once were

                              write them off? NEVER!

Glad you enjoyed it ddr .... that's what its all about.

I suppose we each have differing expectations and taste: some of the crew have been raving about Digger's '08 Transitions which i've found inconsistent/hit & miss - so it just shows that a track that pushes the button for one person does nowt for another.

JD has certainly been on top form live over the past 2-years ... for me Sasha's just been indifferent. I'll still turn up to support him and check out what he's playing (which will be in 7-days time !), but he hasn't played a truly decent set since '04 ... although there were brief sparks at Fabric (his Maida Vale night) and Circus (Liverpool) in early'05 and ibiza in July'06 . Generally I've been leaving disappointed (on a good night) and frankly bemused (on a bad night).

I'll report back next weekend ... it's Hernan Catteneo in Liverpool on Saturday night - now he never disappoints !
