The house that I grew up in was haunted like no other.. None of my friends wanted to sleep over when I was a kid, because it was too scary..Everyone felt it as soon as they walked in the front door..
I was walking home from school one day and saw my mom running out of the house, saying that while she was washing the dishes, she felt someone try to strangle her..She was crying hysterically.Comment

you know, i have had feelings of ghosts and apparitions watching me every where i have lived for the most part.. i think if you let your mind open to that stuff you are more apt to be able to experience.. thats just my beliefs though that we are constantly surrounded by spirits.
if you have pets, cats especially, and they just all of a sudden look across the room, but you see nothing.. what do you think they see

one night last year when i was still living my gf we were in bed and i remember short bits of a dream/nightmare i was having.. and i mean i wake up quite frequently hair standing up all over my body after what appeared to be a bad dream, or that i was woken up by something... but this time it was so fucking intense.. all i remember is seeing something floating around the room (this is in the dream mind you) and it came flying towards me really fast and screamed something.. next thing i know it feels like i am being choked by some ones hands around my neck and i'm screaming at the top of my lungs .. HOOOOOOOOLY SHIIIIIIIIT!!!
karen, my gf said i was talking in my sleep for a little while and she heard me start screaming louder and louder and louder.. and she reached over in the dark to wake me up and she thinks she must have touched my neck with may have been the choking sensation i felt.. i had never been so freaked out in my life.. i couldnt get back to sleep for hoursComment

Steve - what you probably experienced is a well documented condition called "night terrors" that involves a semi-dreaming state. Some people actually feel paralyzed when this happens. Why? Because you are still partly in REM sleep. And you can't move in REM sleep. Seriously - look it up. Prolly the origin of many demonic stories.Music makes the soul strong.Comment

yeah, i have heard of that actually, it was discussed recently on another board.. it was scary as fuck whatever it was, but i wasnt really thinking it was ghost related, just came to mind to share as i was reading this thread
as i said that happenes to me quite often, but no where near as intense as that episode.. i generally have a difficult time falling asleep as i have a very active mind and find it difficult to wind down at night if i dont have some green or valerian root.
maybe i should try ambien?
