    Deep House recommendations

Yeah, I know there have been a couple similar topics posted on this in the last few months, but I guess I'm looking for slightly more specific recommendations....

I've been getting into really atmospheric deep house (maybe borderline progressive?) lately. I went on a bit of a buying spree on www.beatport.com earlier today, and a few records I've bought in the last few months have also really stood out to me. Here are some examples of the sound I'm talking about...

    Distance (fucking love these guys)
    - Sentiment EP (Niche Blue)
    - Clear Your Mind EP (Automatic)
    - Desire (Blaq Velvet)
    Rulers of the Deep
    - Elu On Mi Ilu (Ovum)
    - Dirty Grooves (Ovum)
    David Alvarado
    - Transfiguration EP (NRK)
    DJ Meri
    - Everything [Dub mixes] (NRK)

I'm not looking for anything heavily vocal, soulful, funky, etc - guys like Miguel Migs, Kaskade and Mark Farina just don't do it for me. Just really deep and smooth with perhaps hints of tribal. Any ideas on specific artists, releases or labels like the examples above? Is there more like this?

    All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I guess you are referring to Blaq Velvet? If so, that label definitely rocks - but unfortunately, I can only find 2 releases they have put out (Dousk, Distance). Anything else?

                Re: Deep House recommendations

I'm into the same type of tunes right now...

Check out Paranoid Jack- REALLY deep, bordering on progressive. "No Rest For The Wicked" is just plain silly.

Justin Martin- "Snow Days" is amazing- It's on Utensil which has a handful of really nice deep stuff.

Double Down is a good deep house label also.

Don't totally count out the Kaskades and Miggs type of artists. A lot of the time there are deeper techier versions on the flip sides.

                Good Luck

                      Re: Deep House recommendations

Agree on the David Alvarado EP. I picked this up recently too and it's really great house music.

Also, someone ^^ up there mentioned Rulers of the Deep - Tallin Express EP... that one is also good!

Anything on the label NRK is good.

Can't think of any others at the moment.... Maybe Sikha - View 2000 (Dub mix is good) on Sabatoge.

I actually compiled a deep house/tribal / progressive mix that contains some of these, let me know if your interested and I'll put it up on soulseek.
