1. Because it's easier than teaching incompetent actors, to act lifelike in front of a green-screen.
2. Because it'll make millions $$$...

The art style looks interesting and different from what I'm used to seeing, but this is probably more rental or dl than a cinematic experience.

You guys read about 3D Star Wars?

i'm also for it, even though i'd prefer lucas to work in 7-9 instead than in computer generated cartoons.
it's a business in the end.

I'm not down for that style. I think it looks like shit. Probably half the movie was farmed out to Korea (on the cheap). I'm sure they'll make bank but at a cost of damaging what is left of the StarWars legacy.....
