GC009 Elevator People - Leg Breaker EP | OUT NOW !!!

Elevator People - Leg Breaker EP

    1. Break A Leg
    2. Jazz Hands
    3. Silent Knight

Release date: 21th of May (beatport excl. pre-release)
    Label: Groovecollection Originals 009

    Release Info:

Although you’ve come to known Groovecollection Records Originals as one of the best imprints to put out high quality progressive EP’s with both a housy and techy twist, this release is somewhat different. Taking a turn to the more technoish side of the edm spectrum Groovecollection now presents Elevator People, consisting of Anton Kram, Felix Feygin and Alex Kofman. This New York based collective started in 2006 and is now slowly making a name for themselves in the game. Be prepared for some serious dancefloor music!

The first track on this EP is called “Break A Leg” and is already a favourite with Matt Edwards a.k.a. Radio Slave. The track builds around a more than solid kick and fierce bassline while the percussive elements create the most entertaining groove. Throughout “Break A Leg” there are a couple of really short breaks that consist of some dark, echoing gong and each time the track picks up again with that outstanding groove. We know its appeal, just like Radio Slave, Oliver Moldan and Rene Amesz. Find out for yourself though...

Jazz Hands” indeed sounds jazzy as the title implies. None other than John Digweed played this in his Transitions show at Kiss 100 FM. The combination of techno, house and jazz certainly does the trick. The percussion, bass and piano all sound very jazz improvised and thereby create a very ‘free’ groove. Together with the typical house production sound this one is very fun to listen and dance to.

Last up is “Silent Knight”. Directly from the beginning the tribalistic percussion takes you away and soon you’ll find out this track is a proper builder. One of the best things of this track is the kind of ‘old skool’ house feeling you get when the percussion is joined by the groovy bass and kick. Halfway through a deep, phat bass hook is introduced in the break that’ll take things down after the build. Pure class.

    DJ Support:

Eelke Kleijn: Break a leg rocks!
Keith McDonnell: thanks guys.. jazz hands is nice & driving!
Jordi Reira: awsome techno productions! very deep but at the same time with lots of energy
Sasha Le Monnier: Break a Leg..lovely percussion, has lovely fat beats and build nicely! Jazz Hands...this is pure funk, lovel it !! Silent Knight...this is percussion all the way baby, great sound
Darin Epsilon: All three cuts get a thumbs up from me, but Jazz Hands feels the most special to me. It\'s extremely unique and interesting. Wicked syncopated rhythms, always hearing something new upon each listen. This whole EP should be getting a lot of support from all types of DJs across the board.
Flash Brothers: Nice tech house stuff, silent knight funks up.
Ben Brown: Silent Knight is my favorite out of the bunch. Will be supporting this one
    Randall Jones: Killer stuff.
