I agree.. this is a picture of an american bulldog we saved from an animal shelter in miami.. he was literally minutes from being put down.. he was beaten, neglected and abandoned.. he weighed 85 lbs when we got him from miami.. there is like this underground railroad sort of system that rescues dogs from there and puts them in homes, either for fostering or adopted, from miami on up to st pete.. he went to naples, to ft myers to sarasota finally to us.. he had ticks on him the size of grapes.. about 50 or so ticks that people pulled off along the way...
He used to drop at any odd sound like he thought he was going to be hit or yelled at, and it would break our hearts because WE knew we never going to hurt him, but he just had memories...



well, now he is about 120 lbs.. and the boss of the house, and one of the most amazing pets i have ever had.. my boy ROONEY!!!

^^^ i have a cat too that walks around and purposely drags his tail along the top sides of coffee and end tables to see what he can drag off of them, and then runs like a bat out of hell when shit drops, like he had no clue what he was doing, the sneaky little git.. but when i chase him he drops and rolls in his back.. like wut? lol

it is mate, and even tho he is in a good home, just typing that is difficult knowing there are 1000's of dogs out there like that.

we fostered another bull dog that was found chained to a tree with no food or water out in the middle of no where.. this one was just a puppy, but what a specimen, strong and fast as fuck.. found him a great home right up the road from us, so we still get to see him from time to time

yea instead of buying one, the best thing to do is adopt 'em from shelters. I can't wait to buy a house and adopt one.

depending on how quickly you get attached, you can always foster dogs that need a home.. when shelters get too full they look for temp homes.. its tough because its easy to get attached, but its a good alternative to the poor thing being put down because there is no room in the shelter.

I've had my share of pets (dogs) growing up in India and while I do get attached, its not instant. The only fuck up is our apartments have a "no pets except fish" policy
