***Supernova Sessions Party Fri 5th Nov - with DEMI***

The dark and intimate basement of Sub Logic will be the setting for the second Supernova Sessions party on 5 November. Expect fireworks from behind the decks as we welcome a genuine DJ talent in the guise of Demi, and a similarly impressive new upstart in Johnaghy.

Pete Tong has labelled him ?an up-and-coming DJ to look out for?. DJ Magazine wrote that he was ?one of the most invigorating and stimulating DJs? of 2003. House music legend Danny Tenaglia described him as ?incredibly hard-working and talented? and his sets as ?awesome? ? so much so that he has twice been invited to New York to warm up at DT?s Be Yourself residency at Vinyl/Arc.
Demi is one of a new breed of enterprising young DJs, demonstrating the skill, determination and hard graft needed to stand among the industry?s elite. Having learnt his trade in Bali in 2000, Demi returned to the UK and set up Deeper Substance in May 2001. This has developed a reputation as one of London?s best-kept secrets, attracting DJs such as Lee Burridge, Rui da Silva, James Zabiela and Peace Division.
The night has allowed Demi to establish himself and to host Deeper Substance parties across the globe. Gigs in the US have enabled him to wow punters from Miami to Los Angeles, as well as in Tijuana and Ecuador. This success also landed Demi a debut set at Ibiza?s Pacha club at the DEF MIX closing party, as well as extra dates playing five-hour sets with Tenaglia at Arc in New York.
Demi has also played for Cream in the UK and abroad, after reaching the finals in a national competition run by the club and Muzik magazine. Here, he played alongside Jon Carter and Sander Kleinenberg, and stood in for Nick Warren on tour in Egypt. And this year, Deeper Substance hit the Far East with a show at Club Ing in Hong Kong, and will be touring Australasia during winter 2004.
We at Supernova Sessions are looking forward to hearing the sleazy house sound that has propelled Demi into the DJ big league. And, as if to confirm his status, he?s been nominated for ?Best Newcomer DJ? in the House Music Awards, with the winner announced on 4 November ? the night before Supernova Sessions, so hopefully we?ll have something to celebrate! Voting closes on 22 October, so there?s still time to get your votes in?

Aged 23, Johnaghy (John Donaghy to his mum) describes his style as ?electro-tinged, spaced-out tech funk?. His musical influences are wide and varied: Christian J, Random Factor, Futureshock, Infusion, Gus Gus, Dave Clarke, FC Kahuna and Lee Coombs are all cited as influences. It?s a combination that helped him stand out from the pack when he joined the likes of James Zabiela, Jon Lisle, Steve Gerrard and Yousef by winning (the now sadly defunct) Muzik?s Bedroom Bedlam award in April 2003. Expect more of the same as he opens up at Supernova Sessions.
Formerly resident at Prognosis (York), Audio Jam (Leeds) and Rinsed (Leeds), John now works for Guy Ornadel?s Nettwerk Ornadel management, looking after the likes of Dave Seaman, Filterheadz, Scarlett Ettiene and Charlie May. He?s also studying Music Business & Copyright Law and is producing with studio partner Ben Sutton, with releases due in early 2005.

Both guests will be egged on by SS residents John ?Millennium? Falcon and Marc ?Dole Scum? G ? check out the Audio section for a flavour of what to expect. More info can be found in the Party section of www.supernova-sessions.com
