The album is featured in The Guardian's "1000 albums to hear before you die" list. It is described as an "unfathomably beautiful out-of-time masterpiece"[1].

lol i have this and i also have a weird but funny story about it....one of the tracks featured on it was bought by my freind way back in the days when we were into crappy hardcore, he picked up a record on a popular hardcore label ( i think it as one q-tex :$ were signed to @ that time [cough cough cough u didnt read that cough cough cough ]) @ the time and bought it without listening it,.

when he got it home he stuck it on and found out it was one of tom middletons productions that features on this album the long 20 minute song cant remember the name of it now and cant be bothered to dig out the album. Of course back then we were think WTF was that and stuck it neer the back of his record box....it wasnt untill we were older and wiser we realised just how rare this record was....cant believe he sold it...thats a record worth keeping for the rest of ur life

                    found:

oooh, i gotta listen to this...

                    "Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard
The duo began in their first incarnation as Reload and E621 in 1991 and produced many outstanding recordings released through their own labels Evolution and Universal Language. Both Mark and Tom continue to produce music of the highest quality, though are currently working on seperate projects. Mark Pritchard as Harmonic 33 and Trouble Man and Tom Middleton as Cosmos"

Sold a sealed copy of the 76:14 original double vinyl release, for nearly $400 back in 2000. A true classic...

                          Here's my best 76:14 story:

My friend copied it from cd to tape. (This was the 90s when it was a new release.) He put it on for a party at his house in a tape player without auto-reverse. For the entire party, roughly 9 p.m - 3 a.m., when it hit the end of a side, somebody would get up, go to the player and flip it over to start the next side.

This continued all night. Nobody asked for new music or something different.

                          That's quality stuff.

76:14 is awesome. If you dont know it, you darn well should. Genre defining and still sounds totally fresh.
