              ^^

seriously, its pretty easy to make indian style chicken curry

              1. Open a nice bottle of your fav dry red and make sure you're a couple of sips down.
              2. Shallow fry onions and some tiny black seeds (I gotta ask sugana what they're called in english) and wait till they turn golden brown
              3. Dump diced tomatoes and continue frying on low heat
              4. Dump chicken pieces,
              5. Then enough water until everything is underwater, add "garam masala" (this bad boy to be added with anything you cook), more than necessary quantities of Ginger Garlic paste (really brings out the flavor), red chili powder and salt.
              6. Stir it like you're a witch
              7. Make sure its all well mixed up and smells like its givin you a stiffy
              8. Cover the pot just enough to leave a very small opening (barely enough for the excess steam to slowly blow out)
              9. Leave it on low and let it cook on a small flame until sufficient quantities of the water have evaporated and/or how thick you like your gravy to be
              10. Sample taste it and add what you feel is missing/necessary. Be sure to keep stirring it.
              11. The longer it cooks on low, the better its going to taste. So give or take 45 minutes and you have 1 mean Curry Chicken ready

              Everyone's invited for a bite

save money on the chicken by not using it? substitute with potatoes, carrots, and cauliflower?

if i may add to this war.... the vegetarian indian buffet in town is a billion times better than the one that has lamb and chicken and such.

one main difference is that the latter makes you poo like you're jackson pollack pulling a goatse.cx on canvas (or other medium like porcelain tile).

Cheers Kamal - will have a go this weekend (kid goat curry sound appealing). The problem with veg in a curry is that they don't absorb the flavour the same way.

BTW - of you marinade chicken in ginger/garlic past, yoghut & garam masala the live yoghurt helps the meat absorb the flavour (and also tenderises beef/pork/lamb/goat). Top tip for tandoori style chicken !
