    Flashing Monitor(s)...any clue?

I posted this thread in the computer section of MS; I hope its ok if I post a duplicate here as well coz it is more crowded, so maybe I get more answers.

    Guys,
Something is happening on my PC, more precisely on my monitor(s), and I would like to ask you about that:

Last friday I installed a wireless router at home so that I can freely enjoy using the laptop around. And that day (during the night) I experience something that never happened with me before:

While working on my main PC, plugged on a 22" lcd monitor, the screen suddenly gave me a BRIGHT flash, for like a fraction of a second, and it really hurt my eyes coz its a big monitor. But then the flash occured 2 more times in an interval of 5min aprox, then after like half an hour it gave me another flash and it stopped. It is more or less like a flash of a cam, bright and sudden coming from all over the monitor. That was last friday night.
And then now, while working on the laptop it happened twice and fortunately the monitor of the laptop is not as big as the other so it didnt hurt my eyes.

But before I finish, I want also to tell you that I live in Lebanon, where it is known to have a traffic jam of military stuff from all around the world:

Exactly 1 week before this flashing episode, it was also on a friday and at the same hour more or less, I had some friends over and I suddenly went out get some fresh air. As I looked at the sea, i saw this HUGE bright design "floating" at the horizon in the middle of the sea, like a huge icon (red &white) that is not part of the natural scene, and as big as maybe 3-4 buildings put together. Now I could assess the approx dimentions because I can see Beirut from my house, and that icon was very close to the shores of the city.
In order to make sure that I was not hallucinating, I called all my friends out on the balconey to check it out and they all saw it , and we were like staring at it coz it was really something you don't see every day. Then we went back in, but I thought of taking a pic of that thing, so I grabbed my cam and headed back out to take a shot, but it was too late coz that thing was gone!!! And there we all seriously freaked out....lol

I suspect that to be a military ship, most probably western ship coz that was really a display advanced technology, very advanced!

Is it a coincidence that a my monitor starts flasing like this on the same day I installed the router? Is my pc being hacked and someone is doing this? Or maybe it is related to some military kind of equipment, exactly 1 week after we saw that "ship"?!

    Any clue anyone...?

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.

It happened on your monitor AND your notebook screen??

Power problem? Since the router is the only new addition, take that out of the picture and see if the flashing stops?

^ hahhahahah... I was so waiting for this!!!

I am serious! I am not worried about that thing we saw coz someone who is a discovery channel fanatic saw a similar icon in a advanced weaponry show, and that icon is used by military navy, with same shape but different design, it is like a semi-ball on the sea.
And I wouldn't be surprised if few would believe what I am writing, after all we see here in the region a display of advanced stuff that is rarely used or displayed in countries at peace. I donno if you would see something like that next to NYC shores or Cannes or else, maybe.
But what I am concerned about here are those flashes popping up from my monitor and killing my eyes every time! lol

Yes, it just happened on my laptop an hour ago. Thats why I am posting this thread. No problem with electrical power, I have good and new ups. My hubby is an ex Telecom/IT guy and he saw it too, and he has never seen something like that happen before as well.

Oh yes, and I live in an isolated place, on the top of a hill. I catch 2 other wireless closed networks that belong to my only 2 neighbors where only women live at the moment.

Oh, and concerning that thing.... when we say it I was preparing my upcoming set for MCast, and since I was looking for a title I decided to call the set "RED", in memory of that night...

On the screen.....It is exactly like the whole screen becomes a flash of a cam...not THAT powerful, but when u have ur eyes wide open on a 22"monitor it surely hurts the eyes. And that night I got 4 flashes and it really hurt. And a few hours ago the laptop monitor flashed as well...

Right now it's full summer here, killing sun @ 30 degrees C, not one cloud.
                        Perfect weather.

do u only have one computer?

i build my own computers and the reason i ask if u have only one because the best way to find a fault in a computer is to eliminate possible problems one by one...ifs its a mac i have no idea...if its a pc then it could either be a couple of things for example a short circuit a problem with your video card or could be a problem with monitor...tbh there is no way of knowing untill u get ur hands in about it and try swapping over devices and see if the problem persists.

if i,m honest by reading ur description of the prob it sounds like a graphics card prob...try formatting your harddrive and starting all over again if all else fails

either that or ur about to be abducted by sea baring aliens

                            ^^^

                            My hubby once had 2 computer shops, hardware/software/networking starting from the late 90's, he did some stuff like msce etc......and at the moment we have 3 pcs at home (all IBM compatible), one that we rarely use;

When the laptop flashed he was sitting next to me and saw it and he tells me all what you say is very logic and true had it been on one pc only.....but the same thing happening on 2 different pcs is very wierd, and with the nature of such incidents is not normal on both, it's not the usual of issues a VGA does...
Never seen a VGA act like a flash, and thats the whole point why I opened this thread.

But would it be that hard to think it is military in nature?
The mighty U.S. is playing with a car toy millions of kms away since few years now...
2 yrs ago, during the Hizballah-Israel war, Lebanon was under total siege for 1 month. During that period there was an israeli war ship stationed in front of the bay of where I live. During the period of that boat's presence all wireless technology was disabled in the area, even the GSM cell phone network had major problems fucntioning.

Donno, the more I get flashed the more i think it's military and that someone is trying things on us just like rat labs,,,,lol

i suppose the logical thing to do would be ask a freind or neighbour in your imediate area if the same thing has happened to them....i,ve only seen this happen in electrical storms such as thunder storms...lets face it and i,m no expert here but due to ur location i,m guessing there will be a lot of military activity and its quite possible that there is some testing going on around your area but they are not so stupid as to interfere with things that will raise suspition with the public, tbh i have no clue unless u have swapped files from computer to computer and its some kind of crazy alien virus
