^ I believe so too, I believe it is military. The first 4 flashes happened at around 3AM, but the one of today (laptop) happened in the afternoon. And all this started since we installed the wireless router, i guess our network is more vulnerable. For every new technology there is surely some counter technology to it, a bit like virus and anti-virus. There are technologies out there that the public would probably not even dream they exist...and now that I think, there are tens of western warships watching our borders (UN thing), keeping the truce, making sure no weapons are smuggled or no intrusions for surrounding countries

i couldnt agree more..its like everything these days, everyones mentality now is that you have to be one step ahead of your oponents which is a good thing if you are defending a country i.e. the military but unfortunately its moved down the line and its hittting street level so we all have to deal with things like this now.

what i dont get is that instaling a wireless router could influence the display on your pc's, if this is the case then it would have to be some kind of electrical interfierance and tbh it would have to be quite powerfull to influence a display in the way you are talking.....unless!!!! there is a problem with your wireless hardware which is installed on your computers...sounds like a short or something to me but in all honesty i havnt a clue

must be some sort of electrical interfierance, dont u have them pluged into the main sockets on your walls?

It's odd that the flashes happn to both your monitor and your notebook though, since they're different displays, run on different technologies, and each has its own power supply.

So it can't be a hardware failure unless both your machines suddenly developed faulty graphics cards.

Only thing would be some environmental interference? First guess would be from your new wireless router. Second guess would be

Did you do as feather suggested and take the router out of the equation.?? Isn't the rule of computer problem solving, last in, first out.!

Like mentioned before try removing the wireless router from the equation. We have a lot of equipment that transmits on some crazy frequencies where I work and depending on what freq your router is transmitting and receiving on, it could suffer interference, especially if you have a lot of military activity going on. i have never seen these symptoms before, but most of the computers I use are hardwired. the crazy virus suggestion sounds possible too.hmmmm

                            LOL....

I noticed that the flashing happen more during the weekends than during the week, it is doing it less now but its not totally gone:

Some IT guys tell me its electrical in nature, bounce of voltage (which is always happening here), others tell me might be military stuff, and other yet look at aliens...lol

In the meantime...I AM STILL BEING FLASHED...

Electrical is definitely a big possibility, but your notebook is running off battery and it's flashing too, so it's probably not a disturbance in your electric mains that's triggering it (?) Very intriguing.

Even when the laptop is plugged, it runs from batteries? Or directly from electrical power?
