For salmon, I think you're looking at the Pacific NW (Washington State, Oregon).

tuna fishing is insane. we went out for a weekend trip last fall and it was sick. those fuckers can take up to 2-3 hours to pull in. you get em right up to about 50 yards off the boat and they start another run for an hour.

my boss took us shark fishing as well. i didnt catch anything but some crap, but there was a guy who caught a 6 foot shark.

2-3 hours? OK, either those are some big ass tuna, or you're an enormous pussy.

Just kidding. Some buddies and I caught a bunch of tuna near Puerto Vallarta a few years ago and just had a blast. The first mate of the boat took one of them on the way back in and made some sashimi salsa right there on the boat. Eating tuna that was in the ocean 20 minutes earlier? Doesn't get much fresher than that -- literally the crowning moment of my fish-eating life...
