Yeh - they seem to be messing with the clubbing dynamic which detracts from the spirit of the island. I just hope ibiza doesn't end up as "A N Other" bland sanitised tourist friendly destination with absolutely no identity.

May not be going myself ... weak £ and a credit crunch etc. It's Diggers on the 15th July ... but it seems like its not going to happen as i can't justify circ. £1,000+ for a few days away. Having caught JD there the last 3-years I'm gutted to miss out.

There is a contingency, if I change my mind later on it's Sasha 7th September on the New Terrace

I've realized that Sasha in Europe is better than Sasha in the U.S. as far as the man like just getting it on. I can understand about you being gutted, on missing out on going. Unless you've been there, you just don't know what you're missing. We can sit here and try to explain it to people but it wouldn't matter.

Hopefully we'll both get a weaker €uro next year .. plus if the credit crunch kicks in the clubs may need to learn lessons:

i.e. a marginal decrease in exhorbitent drink prices and reintroduction of a free drink with your ticket - which they only now apply when it suits.

My brother would have gone with me (meaning I can go half board and save money) but he won't pay the price of drinks. Last year the Playa R was a little piece of heaven at a very reasonable price and it made the whole thing a very reasonable proposition.

You never know, if JD hits LA I may pop over for a change, at least the £ is stronger and I've never hit that coast before. My brother loves the US too, hitting the WMC regularly.

Man, Bedrock was brilliant back in the day. I went to about 10 of them altogether, including the night that the flyer relates to. I have so many memories from those nights:

Always going out of my way to find Digweed and tell him he was the man - I'd be like 'John, I'm the guy who does your tracklists'. He must have thought I was a stalker!.

Chatting to Barry Jamieson from Evolution in the McDonalds above Heaven. He was prob one half of the best producers in the world back then.

Me & Demi (from SOS) chatting to Jimmy Van M, who was about as out of it as I've ever seen a guy still standing.

Deep Dish playing Raff & Freddy-Deep Progress and mixing it into Mainline-Narcotic (I nearly shot my load).

Junkie XL doing a live PA and tearing the place up.

DJ Remy playing 'East' by Humate/RITM.

Danny Tenaglia playing the best set I've ever heard (he started with Jam & Spoon-Stella FFS! How could it NOT be good).

          Rowan Blades/Breeder playing 'Sputnik' upstairs.

I'm getting depressed thinking about it all! All for £5 as well - those nights will never be beaten anywhere.

I didn't go to as many Bedrock's... LA is a little far and $$$ was tight. BUT I can only imagine how great it must have been to witness all of the accounts you just sared. Did you ever get a membership card? I still have mine.

Yes I got a membership card, and still have it somewhere along with all the flyers I collected. You used to walk out of Heaven and be given a bag with about 200 flyers for various club nights in London.

They really were great times. I went to Tenaglia on my own as I only found out via a Bedrock e-mail that day that he was playing (he was never officially advertised on a flyer) and it was too short notice for my friends.

In fact that Tenaglia party was the inspiration for GU17. I was dancing next to James & Andy (the fat lads from GU) and I said 'Digweed is the man' and Andy said 'No mate, Tenaglia is the man!'. Happy days.........

You should get a large frame and put all the flyers together on your wall for prosperity Greg. Great stories.
