One of the best transitions ever....

....sitting here bored on a Friday night and I've put on Phil K's Balance 4 disc 1. Currently listening to the mix from Smart & Pocket-Kickflip Manual into Luke Chable-Sealers Cove.

Jesus, what an incredible mix this is between the two tracks. He keeps them together for about 5 minutes perfectly. I LOVE the way the 'dark' elements of Sealers Cove 'float' over the top of the mix, like an impending storm.

Who needs Ableton when this is possible?

oh greg, yes you're so right. lovely mix, also cd2 is amazing.
this, therapy sessions 2004 cd 2 and chable's mix for proton's electrofly back in the day by far the best progbreaks mixes i have heard.
shame that he also just jumped on the minimal tech bandwagon.
        miss that sound so much!

you can do things with ableton you cant do with cdj's and vice versa...must admit i didnt like the fact that people were using this as a piece of dj equipment @ first myself but if you think about it all these things like traktor scratch etc etc all have sync buttons etc etc so whats the difference ?

traktor/serato/et al don't mix for you, they just let you keep all your tracks on a comp instead of cds or vinyl. there is a big difference in playing on ableton vs any of those programs.

in what way exactly? they have sync buttons and dont use the excuse that ableton syncs everything up for you as u can set ableton to do it manually just in the same way as you would any other dj software...personally i dont see the big issue with ableton

                      not completely!!! mastered yea/probibly

the trouble with pro tools is that all the wavs have to be correctly set @ the same speed in order for them to be run together...although thing might have changed since the last time i used it about 5 years ago or more
