It is 109 sweltering degrees fahrenheit in dry Los Angeles, home of Proton director and Particles host Jay Epoch. Summer is definitely here. The heat is nothing to celebrate, although the Santa Ana winds blowing the smog from the sky is a welcome change from the usual June gloom. To accompany the season comes a collection of exclusive & previously unreleased tracks hand picked for their deep, progressive sounds. The usual Particles vision remains intact: Melody, Atmosphere, and Emotion permeate all the songs on the LP. Each track here will blossom into more releases on the label...
Sandji, a debut artist in last season's Spring Particles teams up with friend Stefan as Coretuc for the opening downtempo track "High Speed Space Express". Look out for a remix EP on Proton Particles soon featuring music by Sandji.
Feihstel returns to the series after his Proton debut last season as well, this time presenting one of the most positively reviewed tracks off the LP so far-- "Lux" will get a remix from Sandji and potentially more in the months ahead. Be sure to check out Matthew Adam's dubstep of Feihstel's "You Made Me Smile" out now.
One of the most exciting debut artists on this LP comes from new Russian artist Timo Camillo, host of the new TeaDrops show on Proton Radio as well as an artist climbing the ranks of the deep progressive sound with music released on Deepology already. Look for a Timbuktu EP later this quarter on Proton Music or subscribe to the TeaDrops podcast for more.
When Digweed's Transitions launched on Proton Radio one of the first guests we hosted was Carlo Dall Anese from Brazil. His tune "Monday" immediately caught Jay Epoch's interest and the track "Minigroove" was soon signed to Proton. "Monday" will appear hopefully soon on Ministry of Sound, keep an eye out for it with a remix from Pete Tong himself!
Joining the Particles roster with this release are Silk Digital artists Arthur Deep and Mango, with two gorgeous progressive gems. Be sure to check out their back catalog on Beatport for more lush melodies and watch for both of their upcoming remixes of Joel Armstrong's "Runaway Reject" coming soon on Proton Particles.
Art on this release was designed by Ben Mautner (Royal Sapien), Proton's new resident art director and host of the monthly Royal Sounds show on Proton. His track "Drifting" is an exciting energetic blend between Deep & Progressive house and the perfect precursor for the upcoming re-launch of his label, Olaris Records, on Proton Music.
Setting the stage for a Matt Rowan quarter on Proton Music, Soliquid's "Hot Steppin" remix will be joined by remixes by Jaytech and others later this summer on the label along with a new single from Matt Rowan as well.
Last but certainly not least, it is with great pleasure to feature two tracks from artists that have been with Proton Music for quite some time. Micah and Gerwin Koudijs present their latest progressive gems. Gerwin's storming track will be followed up by an EP out later this summer, while Micah prepares an exciting collection of tunes for release on Proton later this year and a relaunch of his radio show!
Enjoy, and please send us feedback: info@protonradio.com!
