"With a CD player you can put the CD in, press play and lock it in time, and it does it all for you. "

I could also burn a 2 hour set to CD prior to going on and then just play it when I'm supposed to DJ, but but who the fuck does that?

seriously, why are jocks dissing the CD/mp3 thing. I love it. Yoshitoshi closed down in DC over a year ago and I thought my DJing was over. I had to spend $50 - $75 a month just on shipping alone....now with beatport, EDM, 3 beat, etc., I can not only get the new shit, but tracks that would have never been released bc label mgrs like Oakey just don't like the track. whatever. fuck that monkey....

i agree with oakey....to the extent of laptops....cdj's sure....but once u go laptop u've basically broken down barriers for creativity within a parameter. What you can do with turntables, records, and maybe some cdj's is more intriguing than fucking around on a laptop.

i believe he was referring to the actual store location, which did close down.

                          the online operation continues though.

i couldn't really understand some of the language he used as i'm from down under.. is that british for "i'm out of the game?"

all he's basically saying is how everything should stay the way it was in the nineties, and i think the millions of words sent back and forth across the internet and every other means of communication in the last three years would suggest that no, it shouldn't
