For anyone that's into the vibe and history of ibiza Paul Oakenfold has put together a really good radio documentary for Kiss100.
Now poor ol' Oakey gets a bum rap these days (for us Liverpudlian's he's still a true legend, as he proved last year on his Perfecto anniversary tour). His trip to ibiza in the 80's catalyzed the dance scene after he heard Alfredo at Amnesia, and the balaeric vibe ran from his Goa mix, to his KU Essential Mix and perhaps peaked at Oakeys 1999 Space Essential Mix.
For anyone that likes the history of EDM is very interesting listening (and includes contributions from the likes of Carl Cox whose Global nights at Space on Tuesday's are a key feature of the calendar).
There's also an ibiza inspired mix:
It may be far away from the type of music that JD and Sasha play, but if it wasn't for ibiza things may not have turned out just how they did .. and we'd never have had those cherished Amnesia, Space, Mambo and Pacha mixes ... or had those messy afternoons at Bora Bora or DC10, or those early mornings coming out of Space in a hazy trance after an awesome afternoon/night/morning c/o Sasha or Diggers (or Cox or Lawler etc.), and trying to come to terms with what exactly happened and where the last 16 hours went.
Bloody hell ... the sun's even just broken through the clouds !
