If Nick Warren had his own series there wouldn't be anyone doing their main brand. What they should of done is not bothered with all these separate series. Leaving the Nubreed out of it (This was a great series), The 24/7 & Lights Out series would of been just as successful if they had been branded as the main series. What i find funny John Digweed 6 Cd's for Renaissance and 4 of them in the last 3 years. But nobody's moaning about yet another Transitions. If you look in the last 20 years John Digweed has probably done twice the amount of mix Cd's that Nick Warren has done. And yes hes released them on Bedrock, GU, Renaissance, Fabric and countless others. But would it of made any difference on what label they where released on. Most of these labels are basically just releasing a snapshot of what the DJ is playing at the time. The only real difference is the packaging.

About time Prydz got his own mix CD. He's produced lots of bombs for the dance floors over the years and plays to big crowds. Many respected DJs play his tracks and will be interesting to see what he brings on his own mix CD.

just cause he is a good producer doesn't mean he is a good dj. guy has absolutely no clue about programming a set.

there are loads of great producers that dont make good dj's
and i agree, pvd is a page turn mixer at best, but in his earlier days (90's) i enjoyed a lot of the music he was playing.. wouldnt rate him anymore though, but thats just because my tastes have changed over the years

Re: Eric Prydz - Stockholm GU

First off let me say that I am very much anticipating the new Nick Warren GU. Nick is the only thing on GU that has peaked my interest. GU Taipei was surprisingly very good, but Felix the Housecat doing a main GU series mix was questionable and not interesting to me at all.

Prydz has been a hit or miss producer, kinda like the Creamer& K of his time(not quite as good though). He has some pretty solid tracks, but alot of them kinda suck and sound the same. I would hope he is not doing a GU. BTW, Creamer and K had some great timeless tracks and remixes, but their Bedrock mix cd sucked and was not worth shit. Some people should stick to producing. Of course seeing/hearing Creamer live was pretty good in early 2002.

i would personally like to see Warren get back to working with Renaissance. Like Hernan and Seaman have done.

^ i was just thinking that....and then i realized that warren probably put out one of the worst disks on renaissance (revelations....with danny howells producing what could be the best cd on that label!)

^^^^I like the Nick Warren Revelations mix. It doesn't hold up to well after Rapture, but the first half is awesome and peaks with the great remix of Stealth by Quivver. Not Nicks best, but a good mix.

His essential mix was one of the better radio mixes of last year. He seemed to put a lot of thought into it and it sounds better than most of the live efforts of his I've heard.

So based on that I reckon he'll do an interesting job on a GU comp.

Prydz's essential mix from last year is still one of the best around along with the SOS essential mix, hes producing the bulk of tunes which the likes of axwell, guetta, tong, laidback luke, dirty south etc are all using. He is only ever remembered for CALL ON ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
