This is electronica like you've never heard or seen before with a LIVE full-string orchestra... A world-premiere, hyper-kinetic show of future-forward electro-classical beats by DJ THREE. Global Frequencies & Metropolis Ensemble invites you to experience the latest in live electro-classical performance: THE RITE: REMIXED, followed by Ricardo Romaneiro's futuristic DIGITAL CITIES, journeying through rhythm-inspired sonic-scapes and kaleidoscopic patterns that accelerate into the after-party.
Metropolis Ensemble, led by Artistic Director/Conductor Andrew Cyr presents the world premiere of "The Rite: Remixed," a collaboration between three composers and producers, percussion, brass, and live electronics that explodes the boundaries of live electro-classical music. Ricardo Romaneiro joins forces with Ryan Francis and Leo Leite to re-conceptualize the most revolutionary work of the 20th century, Igor Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring," through the lens of the latest sounds and technology from electronica. The July 16th performance will feature the world premiere of "The Rite: Remixed." Also on the program, "Synthetic Mosaic: II" and "Two-Part Beliefs" (texts by Christopher Cahill), by Ricardo Romaneiro.
