And usually from what I got, they play house and techno/electro stuff there. And on the inside it's either that with rap mixed in or just full on rap and top 40 crap. Which is almost all you hear in Columbus. There really is only 1 or 2 clubs in Columbus where you can hear decent house music and this place is one of them. But they have the space to bring in the BIG names. PVD has packed the place before...but I wasn't there. Not into PVD anymore.
I'd frankly like to get into some promotions there and bring in a few big name DJ's that don't come to Ohio. Dave Seaman, Nick Warren maybe.Comment

its freakin ohio man.... i lived there most of my life...and all the clubs played top40 80's or hip hop crap....its just slowly starting to turn the corner but is still so far behind. even down here in tamap the majority of the clubs in ybor are pumping hip hop.
i have a few friends that live in ne ohio that run a few lables (toes/headrush) and they said the scene is difficlut to tap into...in fact he has quit djing out pretty much and focused on his lable and productions

Yeah you speak of David. I know David. He's a nice guy. I send him all my new tracks. Even though most of him aren't up his alley. He did send me a message yesterday saying how he is digging my CONTROL track. Which gives me more energy to send it out to even more labels.
Yeah this club is really trying to have space enough to be able to satisfy everyone. Hell on saturdays they even have a GOTH party in the basement...but most of those people end up hanging out on the patio. My friend was videotaping the night, and had a good conversation with a friend of his about the state of clubbing in Ohio, and they really said that the main problem is the smoking ban. Which moved everyone out to the patios, or just staying at home. And most clubs in Columbus DON'T have patios.

^it's really because there isn't anything interesting enough to make them stay in the club. smoking bans have little to do with pushing a sound. if you build it, they will come. trust me. do your own thing. relying on someone else's idea of what a club night should be = recipe for failure. find a warehouse, sponsors, save your pennies, whatever...step outside the pre-made box.Comment

might just have to do that. Thanks bro. I've been thinking of getting with the Boma people to bring in some better and bigger dj's without having a stupid fashion show in the middle of it all. That is one of the stupidest things that has come about in Columbus.Comment

Yeah dave and amy i have known for quite a long time. actually back in the day they had the underground going pretty good for a while ,..in fact they drew talent such as Sean q6, Steve porter, Chloe Harris, Randall Jones, Jerry Bonham, steve gerrard and many more up to ctown in 2003. it jsut kind of faded out in fact the cool club they used to host parites at abasso closed down last year. My best friend Randy (hulkhuss) threw down the opeingn set at the closing partyComment

Tell Randy I said hello...even though he's on here all the time. Yeah the night before we played in Boma, Sultan was playing in Cleveland. And in a few weeks Phil K is playing there. Dan Stark has really brought some great talent to Cleveland. Terry Grant and Derek Howell too. I'd like to do the same thing, but just in Columbus.Comment
