someone should inform dave darrell and robert miles....
Re: someone should inform dave darrell and robert miles....
no, sound wise, they're very different. the drums, the lack of vocal. the synth sound itself. the lead back into the drums from the break. maybe they're the same in that progression of the track (the slowdown and build up) with a repeating synth-line rhythm, but the tracks themselves sound wholly different.
you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky
it's RA. they'd blow their load all over some stupid 20 minute loop of a snare if it had a quirky flange setting. - Tiddles

Yeah you play the 2 tracks to anyone in the street they will say they are exactly the same. A bit like Head Honcho - Waters Of Jericho and Head Honcho - Walls Of Jericho. Or Clanger - Seadog & Conscious - Northern Lights. Same track, different tittle. I recon the Judge & Jury would see it my way.

wtf havent there been half a million remixes of this damn tune already since it came out in what 1995? can't people come up with new shit to remix, its not like i need to hear this tune, or zomebie 5000 or another remix of dooms night again.
Re: someone should inform dave darrell and robert miles....
I think children was a brilliant track, it just suffered from over exposure. When it was first played in clubs the reaction was immense, then people got sick of hearing it. I remember a few years ago listening to it on Digweed's Renaissance Cd at 5am after a few pills and remembering how good it was. Delerium's Silence had a similar affect. Tyrant played it at Ministry Of Sound in 1998 and it went off big time. When that Tiesto remix came out i couldn't stand to hear it.

robert miles - children will always hold a special place in my heart as it came out when i started clubbing in 95 and one of my mates died in 1996 (car crash) and it was played at his funeral.
pretty moving stuff

i just scanned the youtube link, and frankly it sounds like a lot of other electro remixes. They put the original in right around the little breaks, than go back in with their fart basslines, then when they get to another break they bring the original back in.
Re: someone should inform dave darrell and robert miles....
Sorry guys, think you are a bit wrong. Dave Darell has the official rights from Robert Miles publishing company to make a cover version of Children, and all the original writers of Children are credited in the labelcopy details. He is not using any original audio samples from Robert Miles, all sounds are new or replayed by Dave Darell and he is not getting any author rights on this release, they are still with Robert Miles, so Robert Miles is also earning some nice money on this release.
