[005 HR] - GUSTAVO LAMAS - 'Recorre' Available Now For Download!

The fifth release (titled 'Recorre') from Hidden Recordings comes from Argentina's Gustavo Lamas with remix duties completed by Deepak Sharma and Dieter Krause, and is now available for download on Beatport, Kompakt-MP3 and Juno to name a few.

Link to Hidden Recordings catalog on Beatport:

Here is some feedback on the release:
"Great release, the original is both energetic and beautiful, full of summer flavor. And the remix works the tune into an equally energetic, but deeper stomper. I dig it. Well done."
(Karri O, Respoal, Trenton Records, Thoughtless Music, Lebensfreude Records, Helsinki, Finland)

"Fantastic tune, already playing it. Nice production, clean sound. I like it! Perfect for the first hour."
(Monkey Brothers, Regular Label, Tendenzia, Barcelona, Spain)

"Feeling the original mix. A really subtle moving piece. Especially
feeling those dubbed out vocal samples that filter in at the end."
(Greg Shiff, The Vacationist, Persona Records, Ironbox, Calima, Brooklyn NY)

    “Recorre” (Hidden Recordings)

You can count Hidden Recordings’ output on the fingers of one hand—this latest single, from Argentine artist Gustavo Lamas, is release number five—but even with that minuscule discography, the label has garnered plenty of attention among fans of deep techno and electronic house. “Recorre,” with a choir of shimmering synths weaving its melodic way through the track’s simple bassline and percussion, will do little to quiet that buzz. Hidden honchos Deepak Sharma and Dieter Krause handle the remix, taking the track to a slightly darker place via a pulsating low end, subtle guitar work and a flood of reverb, while retaining its inherently Elysian feel.

Deepak Sharma plays at Rotate NYC Fri 1.

    About Gustavo Lamas:
Gustavo Lamas has been a part of the electronic scene in Buenos Aires since 1998. He has released on labels such as Onitor, Traum and Kompakt, (German), Persona, (USA) and Oral (Canadian).

At the end of 2000, “Mañana” came out by German label Kompakt. A 12” with three tracks that show different aspects of his work: no beat ambient, down tempo dub and a personal vision of house. The ambient track of this vinyl is also included in the “Pop Ambient 2001” Kompakt compilation.

During 2001 he was invited to participate in the second edition of Mutek Festival in Montreal, Canada. He was one of the 13 artist of the event to be asked for a track to be included in the Mutek compilation. He also played in neighbour countries like Uruguay and Chile. Without forgetting his more experimental and ambient material, he started developing more dance oriented music playing in several local events.

Because his style can oscillate between Pop Ambient and his particular vision of Techno and House, he has been invited to take part in cultural centers as well as clubs to play for the dancefloor or to be part of the line up in festivals like Creamfields. He also was part of important festivals around the world as Sonar (Spain), Rumor (Holland), Lost Of Souls (Belgium), Encuentro Electronico (Colombia) and Mutek (Canadá, Mexico and Argentina)

In June his first 12” was released in USA in Stewart Walker’s label Persona Records and now he joins the Hidden Recordings family with 'Recorre'.

    About Hidden Recordings:
Since the inception of Hidden Recordings (www.hidden-recordings.com) in 2006, Deepak and Dieter have seen their tracks reach Top 20 downloads on Kompakt-MP3, Top 10 downloads on HRFQ in Japan, been reviewed in top magazines such as XLR8R and DJ Times, licensed music to UK label Four-Twenty for their Music02 mix compilation and reached as high as #3 on the Balance Record Pool Top 50 Chart. AOL Music's Spinner.com also reviewed the duo twice and has compared their sound to minimal techno giants Lusine, Superpitcher and Booka Shade. In 2007, Deepak and Dieter beat out established publishing groups and produced music for Singapore's Ogilvy & Mather advertising agency and their client, Heineken Global.

Forthcoming artist releases include Gustavo Lamas, Karri O, Lineas De Nazca and Monkey Brothers with Deepak and Dieter on remix duties.
