    Pioneer Price Increase

Anyone notice the jump in prices for Pioneer CDJs, mixers, and EFX units from any of the authorized dealers? It seems like everything is marked up at least $100 from when I remember last.

    From PSSL we're talking:
    $1,500 for CDJ 1000 MK3
    $700 for CDJ 400s
    $800 for CDJ 800s
    $1,700 for DJM 800

Even some non-authorized dealers have made jump too...

I noticed that too. I didn't buy a pair of CDJs for $1200 each, I'm certainly not doing it for $1500.00. Looks like I'll never own a pair; which considering how much I bitch about new music is okay.

no use for pioneer products anyway, but that's pretty steep.

maybe because of the cheap dollar ... a mate of my bought a DJM800 in the U.S. for a 25% or 30% better price than in germany ... and even after tax etc it was cheaper. Hope the Euro will be as strong as now for next years WMC =)

tbh u get what u pay for these days, if the build quality is there then its worth it imo, if it falls to bits in the first couple of years then can u honestly say ur money has been well spent....i think this is due to a lot of people going on the computer route rather then the cdj's and mixes way because A: its cheaper and B: you can get the same results, i,m not an expert on it thought but if it were my choice i would have the cdjs and mixer

Looks like the global credit crunch has hit CDJ's ... they will drop in price when no-one can afford to go out clubbing !

Memo to Clubs .... "Slash drink prices by 50% NOW !!"

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

It's just the big wigs at Pioneer getting greedy....or more than they already are.

All the more reason to stick with wax.
Everyone seems to think the digital route is so cheap.
Its expensive to start with the equipment, and then the new tracks are only about half the price of the record, because I usually like atleast 2 tracks off a release. Not to mention there is no product in return for my money. Can't wrap logic around the whole thing. 5 years down the line digital folks will have spent thousands on digital tracks, and have nothing to show for it. Not to mention the lacking quality, class, and style.
