    Condi Out Stumping For Bush

National Security Advisor Condi Rice is evidently out hitting the campaign trail stumping for Bush in the swing states.

I seem to recall that some group called "al Qaeda" or something like that intended to orchestrate a terrorist attack in the US in the days before the election in an attempt to disrupt the election. Shouldn't someone tell the National Security Advisor that perhaps she should concentrate on that threat rather than jetting around the country to Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and Oregon?

While i understand your point, and this is going to sound bad, but seriously, what is one woman going to do to stop terror?

Don't you think whatever is in place to stop terror events will work just as well wether Condi is sitting at her desk or not?

As to steps taken to prevent terror attacks, yes. As to responding to attacks, I have to say no.

If we are attacked, I don't want the National Security Advisor to be in the middle of a pie-eating contest in Buttfuck, Ohio.

like she makes the decisions anyway. Rummy and Cheney and Crofty run this joint!

but if this is the argument you're going to make, then i recall several people on here standing up for Kerry/Edds missing 70+% of the vote this year in the senate because "well, they're campaigning...it's an election year." I imagine somehow tho that's going to be okay with libs tho, and somehow Condi taking out of her schedule for a few DAYS to campaign is going to bring the house down, not like she missed the whole year.

          got me there...

I still think it sends an odd message to have her out campaigning, though -- of course, her ass is on the line if Bush gets fired, too, so she may want to be out there doing the stumping thing to protect her job. Oh well. I don't think she comes off great -- I can't imagine that she would be very effective in that role.

            my 2 cents:

From what I understand it's the first time an NSA has hit the stump. Could be wrong on that though. Plus, Dub's got his wife to let him break his promise to her about her campaigning for him.

Second, if she's on the road, who's going to break down the daily intelligence briefings to Dubs in really simple terms? Not that he respects them anyway......

Well, if she sits there really sensually, maybe the terrorists will be distracted and forget to ignite the bomb? Or they run away horrified by the apalling sight of a woman without a burqa.

Also understand your point.. the admin is supposed to keep out of the campaign, thus why you didn't see Rummy, or Colon at the RNC... however she is only an advisor. But no better way to get her feet wet, she would make a better President than Hillary. She could be the first black female in office.
