please give me a break. I've tried being nice and all I get is, "aww your sound system is screwed up" or " you don't know what you're talking about" or "aa who cares blah blah blah". I've pointed this out several times and no one gives a crap. so forgive me for being frustrated and generally dismayed by ignorance by my own peers.

and please, is this really upsetting your feelings? I'm having meaningful discourse here and trying to rectify what I see as a problem. I'm truly, truly sorry if anyone thinks I'm coming off as ungrateful- what I'm trying to do is maximize the enjoyment and participation that this board provides.

As I commented in my original post, the uploads are highly appreciated. Obviously since the problem does not occur all the time, the solution is probably very simple. And instead, people are fighting me because for one reason or another they can't see the problem. Well I'm sorry for that.

explain the problem step by step please because its obvious that some if not most people here are being confused by what you are try to get @ here....r you trying to say that someone is recording the files in mono then trying to stereo "image" them from a mono recording ? because what i dont get here is that if u are saying that they are mono files then there would only be one wave form showing in the diagrams you posted as evidence.

do us both a favour here and take some time to upload one of the files you are discussing here and dont edit it before you do lol

Ok, so, what I'm getting at is that the files are for all intents and purposed "stereo" files. They take up the same amount of space, they have 2 channels, they play back and call themselves stereo. Except that, for the files in question, Left = Right, meaning that at some point in the recording process, Left and Right are being summed. It could be as simple as a checkbox somewhere in some software.

The most obvious way to tell is just to listen. It's most strident right at the beginning, with the Kiss100 intro buffer override stutter effect. In the "true" stereo version, the very first bit does a really quick pan around your head and then the "John- John Digweed..." comes in, etc. In the "false" stereo version, there's obviously no pan.

So, I don't know how, but the channels are being summed at some point, resulting in mono. It's someone's setup, or it's the way they're broadcast, or something else.

this still doesnt proove anything m8 as they are both different files as you can see from ther file names, every file is different and even a stereo file will look as if the waves match up, you need to reaaly zoom in on them

well i dont want to argue with anyone or take sides but i will say that i havent noticed any difference between diggers sets and i wont notice any difference in the future anyway simply because im not bothered if they are in mono or stereo output. i would bother though if mono where the tunes im buying of beatport and juno. that would be a problem. but for some free music im getting of [ms] im not really bothered.

I guess he's just trying to solve this thing. If I'm anal about something, I know I need to get it solved. Imagine hearing a set thinking it sounds like 128 when everyone else thinks it's 192 and is cool with it.

Is it possible that some of Digweed's source were monoed to begin with? Maybe it's not the broadcasting nor the recording, but something fucked up on his end?

Well, the simplest test is plugging in the old headphones and listening. Did that ,comparing Jan 13th and Jan 27 . He's right.! You can pick it up in the introduction. You all think too hard!!
Btw I didn't pick up the post as complaining , more informing !! One of the things I love about this site is that they want to do things the best way possible! So I think it's a good thing if you all get together to work out the problem. Rather than saying, firstly there isn't one, secondly you are an ungrateful shit for bringing it to our attention.
