Re: Afterhours online....new trend?
Hey man, I'm 32 like yourself so please don't pull the age thing on me.
The reason I brought up GM food is well, those shit has been tinkered with as well and nobody knows what their effects are on us.
This is where you need to read up on more the politics behind them. True you can't trust everything you read, like you said, maybe this is what the drug cartels want us to think to become sympathetic towards drugs.
But as I said before, you think you can trust the big pharmeceutical companies? Think again man.
I just don't get why you think alcohol, as devastating as you make it sound, is ok in your books while other substances aren't. Don't you think that's one big double standard?
The reason I bring up the legality of these substances is because to me, that's all that seperates alcohol, nicotine, xanax, panadol, mdma, lsd, ghb, meth, etc. If you look at the cumulative effects of any of these substances, they can all be addictive or harmful in excess. Even your most run-of-the-mill innocuous substance in the supermarket.
[quote=red1;635973]true true and almost true, one day u will sit back and think...wtf was i doing...not everyone has circumstances such as your own feather, consider yourself one of the lucky ones, so are you saying that you should be special when it comes to considering everyone else in your country ?[quote]
I am far from saying my circumstances are different, I was trying to contrast my experience with yours, telling YOU your experiences with drugs aren't special nor unique nor common as you think.
Which is exactly why leglisation and harm minimisation is so important. You can't do anything with the children except teach them and hope for the best. Surely you don't think your current polarised stance on drugs will have any effect on them.
I grew up in Singapore in a traditional, conservative Chinese family. Parents don't drink or smoke, etc. And here I am. They did used to gamble and I detest it now though
Well it really depends. I've slowed down a lot. Yes I get recreation fun out of pills, but I don't even particularly get fun out of acid or shrooms in the same sense.
But once a while, I just like something that shifts my perception or changes the way I think in ways I can't imagine. It makes me look at the world around me differently and most times, it actually makes me appreciate the world more.
I think that's really the crux of it. If I do something or consume something, I find out what it is and what side effects there are, even with pharms. But I see it as my responsibility, even if I consume MDMA. I certainly don't trust anyone higher up to make any choices for me
Anyway let's agree to disagree 'cos we'll go round in circles at this rate, if we aren't already
