    The James Bulger petition e-mail

Have any of you received this e-mail?

I usually don't forward chain e-mail, but after reading the story I immediately fowarded it to everyone I could think of. After further research it turns out it is from a couple of years ago and some assface with nothing else to do started it up again as a hoax for God knows why.

This is honestly the saddest thing I have ever heard of in my life. How these two fucks can be walking free after what they did is absolutely incomprehendable to me. It makes me wonder what so called "justice" systems are even for. It makes me realize that this world we live in is broken beyond repair. I sometimes wonder if I even want to bring a child into this fucked up world. Events like this only further that thought.

I can't believe I am just now finding out about this senseless killing. Maybe I was just too young and distracted to take notice when it happened. Either way, if some of you didn't know about it either, you should.

    The e-mail:

Do you recall this incident - it had national news coverage:

On February 12, 1993 a small boy who was to turn three in March was taken from a shopping mall in Liverpool by two 10 year old boys. Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only a second and Jon Venables took his hand and led him out of the mall with his friend Robert Thompson. They took Jamie on a walk for over 2 and a half miles, along the way stopping every now and again to torture the poor little boy who was crying constantly for his mommy. Finally they stopped at a railway track where they brutally kicked him, threw stones at him, rubbed paint in his eyes and pushed batteries up his anus.

It was actually worse than this. What these two boys did was so horrendous that Jamie's mother was forbidden to identify his body. They then left his beaten small body on the tracks so a train could run him over to hide the mess they had created. These two boys, even being boys understood what they did was wrong, hence trying to make it look like an accident. This week Lady Justice Butler-Sloss has awarded the two boys anonymity for the rest of their lives when they leave custody with new identities. We cannot let this happen. They will also leave early this year only serving just over half of their sentence. One paper even stated that Robert may go on to University. They are getting away with their crime. They need to pay, and we have to do something to make them pay for their horrific crime. They took Jamie's life violently away, and in return they get a new life.

Please add your name and location to the list and forward to friends and family. Please copy this e-mail instead of forwarding so we do not get ">" at the beginning of sentences. If you are the 200th person to sign please forward this e-mail to: cust.ser.cs@gtnet.gov.uk (Attention it to Lady Justice Butler-Sloss) Then start the list over again and send to your friends and family.

The Love-Bug virus took less that 72 hours to reach the world. I hope this one does too. We need to protect our family and friends from creatures like Robert and Jon. One day they may be living next to you and your small children without your knowledge. If Robert and Jon could be so evil at 10, imagine what they could do as adults?

Yep,I remember this incident,i was 13 at the time and I couldnt get my head around how 2 10 year old boys would want to do this.

The two killers are free now, living a life of anonymity somewhere, probably never having to worry about getting a job,or putting a roof over their haeds-as the uk govt will make sure they are sorted for life.

One sad aspect of the story-jamie's parents split up a few years later-one factor was possibly the trauma of losing a child in such circumstances

Re: The James Bulger petition e-mail

The fact Venables and Thompson were minors when they killed Jamie Bulger caused many in the UK to question the values society was beggining to install into young people. No matter how horrific it was at the time, or the memories it brings up today, these two boys were sentenced for the crimes.

They were brought before the criminial justice system who defined what punishment they should recieve, and its in line with that punishment (and if i'm not mistaken some well dodgy ruling from a Home Secretary), that these two unfortunates are now being released from incarceration.

The basis of the criminal justice system is punishment and rehabilitation. If it has deemed these boys fit for release because they have been both punished and rehabilitated, then, regardless of whether i like it or not, they should be released.

Likewise, if the state has information that they would be subject to possible criminal activity against them, the state has the moral right to protect them. These boys have served their time and should now be free to begin, hopefully, more meaningful lives.

I understand the anger that people feel when hearing of their release, but you can not blame these two boys for that. Had their sentence said life imprisonment with no parole then we would not be having this discussion.

The original article talks about these boys getting away with their crimes, this is hardly the case. Sure object to basis of the law that allows killers to leave prison after a decade, but its time to leave these boys alone, as at the end of the day, its the Justice system that is releasing them, and it is now that system that is at fault.

Interesting point dave, and i do see what you are getting at.But unfortunately some people just read the tabloids and adopt their own mentality on most subjects. Therefore it is hard to get into a proper discussion about anything serious

unfortunately there are very limited options in this case:

            Either:
            Execution (Illegal in this country)
Prison for Life (I'd rather be executed!)
Set free without anonymity (They'd get killed within days)
Set free with anonymity (The only real option).

Even the last option is hardly getting off lightly - they'll be haunted by what they've done for the rest of their life - imagine settling down with a partner, you'd have to make up a completely false childhood to cover for what really happened, you'd constantly be scared of people finding out who you were... I reckon the tabloids would be happier if they were lined up against a wall and shot - but that would be a much too easy way out for them...

This is a very very difficult issue to deal with, and make sense out of. On one hand you have two viscious killers, who at the time were children themsleves. On the other, you have two children, who unknowingly became viscious killers.
Was it a prank to start out with? Did they set out to kill a baby? We will never know. No matter what happens to these boys, it won't really make up for what happened.
Maybe they started out just to get a kick out of wanting to get this little boy lost, and then realised they had gone too far, and were scared of what would happen to them had they got caught, not thinking they would get caught regardless.

Execution, tho having an immediate sense of revenge and justice, after time this feeling will dissipate and the reality of the little boy not being there will still grow.

Letting them go on in public and lead a life in whatever way they can, seems unfair, but so does society paying their way the rest of their lives being locked up.
I can't imagine them being able to go the rest of their pitiful pathetic lives without this issue coming out and them being confronted with it in some way shape or form. I feel the worst is yet to come for these boys, and when it does justice will finally be served. We can only hope.

Agree with you unome, what goes around comes around.
I watched a documentry on these 2 monsters and it made you think WTF had they witnessed to do such horrific things to such a small child.
Apparently one of them has been housed just a few miles from where I live which is not good news.

The link that I posted that told the actual story brought up a couple different point about that movie. The blue paint that the boys threw on him, there is a scene in that movie where Chucky has blue paint on his shirt. One of the boy said in his confession how the little boy James was "like a doll." There are a couple more.

Who knows, maybe these sub-human motherfuckers were actual demented enough to think it was a movie and that it wasn't real. We can never imagine what goes on in the this kind of mind.

Re: The James Bulger petition e-mail

It was shocking and disgusting act committed by children, but sadly i agree with what has happend to the killers. You cannot lock up 2 boys for the rest of their lives. sad but imo true. Europe wouldn't like it for a start.
Imo these boys have been rehabilitated and i hope/think they will never commit a serious crime again. Personally i don't think they have been punished for there crime, at least not properly, but i think they have been rehabilitated. If we were to keep them locked up for the rest of their lives we would be as bad as them. It's a difficult situation to resolve but the UK has been brave and taken the bigger picture into account by releasing them.

It pains me to admit that letting 2 killers walk, even into a cushy life that i'm sure they now lead (in some respects). Just remember that they will never be able to pop round to see their families ever again, they will always be looking over their shoulders, always need to be looked after by the police, they have freedom but with very big catches.

Not an ideal situation but the only option available imo. It does pain me to take this view after what they did, but what are the alternatives?
I just hope i never find out one of them is living next door to me, i'd happily hold his head on a railway line.
