well after the 2nd listen i was certainly right this is indeed a grower

builds it up very nicely in the first 20mins and then it just takes off and finishes with a thumping last 30 mins

I agree with you, completely, this Essential is IMHO best in 2008 [so far...]
These days 95 % of mixes are so fuckin' boring and stupid but this one sound so fresh and innovative, exactly like Howells' Essential last year
