critical condition..... i would think he hit that building doing at least 60 miles per hour wearing only a lifejacket..... you see how hard he hit the sand??? then think how fast he whipped into that building.. amazing he is even alive today.

But I could further imagine, when he flew into that building, that it would have been equivalent to a wipe out on coral.

wow, you all pretty much suck...

kevin is a great guy and an experienced kitesurfer, he is now in a coma with severe head injuries, along with spinal cord damage... nice that you all find this so funny...

i was surfing about 10 blocks away when this happened, kevin had been out there for the better part of the day, and winds had been holding steady at about 20+ knots (which is perfect for kite surfing). The squalls that began coming through were completely random and unexpected.

The kite rigs do have an emergency release, and we're guessing the first time he hit the sand, it knocked the wind out of him.

Lets hope mother nature doesn't put down the smack on any of you all, she can be a bitch at times...
