We ask our guests for something different and following his last appearance on Solid Steel in 2005, he returns with a beautiful Ambient mix titled "A Beatless Planet". We suggest headphones firmly in place and somewhere to relax as we drift through music from Gil Melle, Roy Budd, Kraftwerk, Piero Piccioni and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. "Kirk Degiorgio returns for Part 2 of his beautiful Ambient mix titled 'A Beatless Planet' for our 25th Anniversary slot. We had Part 1 in January and we continue with more electronic soundscapes from John Pfeiffer, Brian Eno and Gil Melle, soundtracks from Jerry Goldsmith, Quincy Jones and Lalo Schiffrin and the electronic duo of Macolm Cecil and Robert Margouleff with Tonto's Expanding Head Band and their giant Tonto synth, which sound went on to feature in the legendary works of Stevie Wonder, Gil Scott Heron, Bobby Womack."
