    radiohead on tuesday night

so after 12 years of being a radiohead fan, i *finally* saw them live for the first time at Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver on Tuesday evening. and they did not disappoint.

The setlist was varied, covering so many fantastic songs. I really couldn't have asked for more. The whole band was on, and hearing them in an outdoor venue meant the soundquality was brilliant.

    Set List

    1. 15 Step
    2. There There
    3. Morning Bell
    4. All I Need
    5. Where I End And You Begin
    6. Talk Show Host
    7. Nude
    8. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
    9. The National Anthem
    10. Bangers And Mash
    11. Faust Arp
    12. Videotape
    13. Karma Police
    14. Jigsaw Falling Into Place
    15. Just
    16. Exit Music (For A Film)
    17. Bodysnatchers

    First Encore
    18. House of Cards
    19. Optimistic
    20. You And Whose Army?
    21. Planet Telex
    22. Everything In Its Right Place

    Second Encore
    23. Reckoner
    24. 2+2=5
    25. Paranoid Android

When they played talk show host i nearly shat my pants. oh and it was also great to hear exit music live, never expected to get that gem.

The other thing I have to mention about the show were the lights. They have to be second only to a tool show (any of you who've seen a tool show will know what i mean). Just mesmerizing. At several points i had to snap out of it to pay attention to the band/music.

here are some vids i've found on youtube.

this gives you an idea of the lights...

    this was surreal...

the last song they played, tom gave the audience a choice between idioteque and paranoid android. The fans overwhelmingly chose paranoid android (I prefer idioteque myself), which turned out to be a perfect song to close with. It had been raining all night, and the last lines of the song came in with Thom singing "rain down, c'mon rain down, rain down on me." Could not have asked for a more appropriate end to an incredible evening.

I am seriously wanting to see them again soon. This only wet my appetite. I highly recommend anyone who gets the chance to see them on their west coast swing, DO SO. you won't regret it, even if you're not a big radiohead fan.

They're playing here tomorrow, headlining the Outside Lands Festival.

I'd love to hear them live again, but couldn't convince myself to pay the prices they're charging for the tickets when I haven't heard of/don't care about 99% of the bands.

Was due to see them here in June but had to sell my ticket as went to Ibiza with work. Still think it was a no-brainer but this makes me sick I missed it

Saw them here a few weeks ago. Amazing show! I was surprised they played as deep as they did, really cool stuff. The lights were pretty sick. Those rods they had all over that changed colors, made for a really colorful and full looking stage.
