Let me say this, also -- having watched Biden's speech yesterday, I'm even more convinced he made the right choice. The VP is supposed to serve as the attack dog, and that's something that Obama really needs to counter the stream of attacks coming out of McCain himself. Biden did a good job lobbing some shots in at McCain, and he's able to do it without coming off like a dick.

Very much looking forward to the Biden-Romney debate.

i have mixed feelings on the RAVE Act. I'm disappointed at the extent it villified all music promoters and djs, but understand that it was a reaction to the carelessness of people dropping E, A, K, ad nauseum. For the most part, the promoters were all very professional about what they did (or how else could they achieve what they do) and took great precautions to aid thier clientelle...but i largely blame this act on the ravers. I'm honestly suprised raves continued as long as they did because I could only imagine how frustrating it must have been for a promoter during those years, always wondering if some fuckface teenager with an inclination for flourescent nightmares would OD at his party...

That's not the reason for the crackdown on raves. Its because it had no corporate ties that the govt could collect on, and because they knew we weren't organized enough to stop it.
And we were to damn nice and complacent of a group.
This biden choice has further solidified my vote to go to Nader.

I am so ready to move out of this country after this 3rd pitiful election race in a row. Never a good choice gets popular.

Yes, complacency got rid of the raves, not the Rave Act. I enjoyed raves until it became more abou the drugs and not about the music. It is still this way as far as I can tell. Clubs at least have more control over what people are doing and have better ability to provide health assistance.

if ppl wanted to really be pro active in stopping drugs, put an undercover cop at a 7-11 in the evening and have them follow everyone who buys a product from Philly or Dutchmaster. they are not smoking it for cigar purposes.
