Oh man i'm the wrong person to ask that to. I'm mostly not selling much right now because I'm so unknown in the vast amounts of producers out there. But i'm slowly moving on up.
Just out of curiosity...how much can a producer make off an edm track? I realize it depends on how many units sold, but what's the low range and high range?
it depends on many factors: wheather you are releasing it through your own label or signing for other, is it released only digital or on vinyl too, if its your own label - what kind of deal you have with distribution, if you're remixing someone - sometimes you'll get some cash, sometimes he'll return the favour and do a remix for you next time etc
so, it can be from 0 to few thousand euros/dollars, even for one track. top 10 bestsellers on beatport are certainly getting some nice cash. some of my buddies have vinyl labels, most of the money goes into p&d. but, the more releases you have, the more (international) gigs you get and there lies some real money.
bit of a paradox, but thats reality for quite some time
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have finally uploaded my remix of my Control track. It's much more on the funky progressive house tip. A little less on the vocals too.
Give it a whirl and let me know what ya think. I sent the stems to Luca to be mixed and mastered, so his final version will most likely sound more polished than this one on here.

Thanks everyone for listening!

definitely liking the Recombination mix mate, well done!
ditto. they're both good, but what's great is how they're so much a like, and yet would be used so differently. probably could get away with mixing the dub version of the original into the recombo mix for a good start to a set. imo
you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky
it's RA. they'd blow their load all over some stupid 20 minute loop of a snare if it had a quirky flange setting. - Tiddles
