After the last releases with some upcoming artists who are not thát upcoming anymore Deep is proud to present a whole new talented guy onto the scene: Jason Lanox. Hailing from Amsterdam this guy sure knows how to make techno in its widest form. What to expect? 808 Kicks, crazy melodies and groovy rhythms. Just the way we like it...
First up is “Bellalyka”. This is probably named after the popular Russian instrument called the ballalaika which is some sort of traditional guitar. Before even the smallest hint of a ballalaika comes along we’re already bobbing our heads and shaking our hips to one of the firmest beat/bass combinations you can imagine. This just rocks and grooves! Then ofcourse the “Bellalyka” theme hops along to add some more crazyness. In some way this is a bizarre combination of a little bit of balkan beat and techno which is just plain fun without being silly.
Second track on this release is “The Getaway” which at first takes a somewhat minimalistic approach. But again there’s a firm grooving and driving fundament which will catch the attention of the public. Some kind of trumpet sends the track in a more deep direction while a dark voice is repeatedly stuttering or saying the phrase “Getaway”. Simple, but very effective techy track.
