Can you imagine if McCain died and this woman was left in charge! Holy shit you think we are in bad shape now! She was on the PTA fifteen years ago.

No, she supports drilling for oil in Alaska. Confimed in under 5 seconds using The Google.

Actually, CNN just stated that she is FOR drilling. Might be incorrect but that was just stated.

No there is a difference. Her experience: PTA, City Council, Mayor(town less than 10k people), then Governor.

            HUGE Difference in accomplishments also.

              Re: McCain/Palin?

McCain's pick of Palin was definitely a surprise. My first thought is who is this woman? My second thought is that no matter who wins in November, we will have either our first black president or our first women vp.

Is she qualified for the job though? I had never heard of her, but I'm willing to listen and give her a chance. She is the governor of Alaska and governors seem to translate well to executive federal positions.

I ask the same question of Obama. Is he qualified to lead? I'm not sure either. McCain is definitely ready to lead, but his vision may not be right for the future.

Most importantly, Palin as the Republican nominee shook things up for the Democrats and women voters. Democrats now have to re-think their strategies for the election. And if she is qualified, women will have a tougher decision who to vote for.

                  Re: McCain/Palin?

then is doing typical politico style as she was on TV a few weeks ago backing obama's ebergy plan and demanding safety assurances before she would let congress opent the drilling.

god i wish the conventions were attacked. at elast we have the chance nest week. but seeing the roof cave in on the DNC woulda been great.

There are exceptions but again women will in general not vote for a woman just because of gender. Of course there are some white men who will vote for McCain just because he is a white man.

And CNN just showed her shooting an automatic rifle. And she likes to ride snow mobiles. Let's see Hillary do that.

Somewhat agreed, BUT what if she turns out to be qualified. We're just learning about her now. Let's give her sometime to find out about her.
