Did anyone see her coming out speech? How'd she do and what is she like?

OK, this is completely juvenile, yet I can't resist posting it. Just for laughs:

lOL saw it this morning at around 9ish pacific time.

As expected, and cliche it was tbh. ...Like any soccer/pta mom would -- with glossy emotion and candor. I don't care tho, she might be chill, but it's all a frenzied mudslinging at each other over empirical shit till Nov.

/ Disregard this, and keelhaul me now as this storm passes.

            Yes it does.

However, this political forum has become increasingly more what the posters are saying about each other rather then having a discussion about politics. Maybe thats where the fun is.

Does seem in the end Politics really is all about self.

Not necessarily. You just have the few members who are either abrassive for the sake of attention or see the future as nothing but impending doom and blame everyone for it.

                  Re: McCain/Palin?

I just don't understand this. Maybe as I learn more about Palin, it will make more sense. I'm not saying she necessarily incompetent in any glaring way... But it just seems that to take someone practically unknown...and relatively inexperienced...and under an ethics investigation... just to pander to disenchanted female Hillary supporters, and to combat the old age perception?? It seems like rather coarse, almost offensively short-sighted logic to me for the choice of a VP... the combination of the two of them seems almost grotesque.

Yes... thank you... I'm glad that others see through this as well.

Biden at least made sense. Whether you think it should have been Hillary or not, at least Biden has a real track record of experience, particularly in areas where Obama is weak. Yes, Obama is also short on experience, but for better or worse, he has demonstrated his charisma in getting enough people to follow his vision. What has she demonstrated?

I just don't get how this really bolsters the Republican bid.

                    Re: McCain/Palin?

This from Ed Rollins from CNN, regarding Sarah Palin:

The "who" is a young, articulate, smart, tough, pro-life woman who is the governor of our northernmost state. She is conservative and a mother of five, including a son in the Army who is set to be deployed to Iraq on September 11. Her youngest child has Down syndrome.
The "Barracuda" nickname came from her aggressive basketball play on the state championship basketball team. She is a hunter, pilot and lifetime member of the NRA.
She is blunt, outspoken and charming. And don't assume she can't stand toe-to-toe with Joe Biden. She is a great debater. And she was runner-up for the Miss Alaska title, won Miss Congeniality in that contest and plays the flute.
Ok. Let's play find the glurge:

                    Mother of 5
                    Son in the army,
set to be deployed to Iraq on September 11.
                    child with
                    Down syndrome
                    hunter, pilot and
                    lifetime member of the NRA
runner-up for the Miss Alaska title, but won
                    Miss Congeniality

This is so totally exploitative it makes me sick. Can they find someone with any longer a laundry list of political "unassailables", regardless of how random? It's like they have a matrix of politicians and went and looked up the one with the most vapidly inspirational bullet points.

isnt obama proclaiming change? lol come on man!

btw, it makes me laugh listening to you guys talking about her inexperience and what she hasnt done... hello? obama? what has that assclown done? go look at his district in chicago, hasnt done shit.. also talking about her inexperience with foreign policy... same can be said about obama so give me a break

talking about her ethics scandal? hmmm... ayers, rezko, etc.

funny how when people were bringing this shit up about obama, and his family, etc. it was horrible, but now you all do the same about this bitch... oh the hypocrisy

the fact that she is a gun toting, fishing, snowmobiling, mom, etc woman only points to her being just an ordinary person. or is she too ordinary thus taking away from obama's act as the ordinary guy who in fact is anything but ordinary and a snob?

exploitative? give me a break! think of the reasons obama picked biden.

She sounded more like a soccer mom than the possible leader of this country!!!!! I agree that it was in my eyes extremely irresponsible and selfish of her to accept the nomination. Before becoming governor she was the mayor of a town that has less than 10,000 people. And she thinks she can run the country????? C'mon that's like me accepting the nomination. (I was also on the short list of course!)
