Re: McCain/Palin?
McCain's VP Pick is Insulting
Ok. So, McCain obviously choose his VP running mate Palin because she is a woman and he wants to lure disaffected Clinton supporters.
I find this to be extremely insulting as a woman. Does McCain think that as a woman I am so stupid and ill educated that I would vote for someone simply because she is a woman like me? Give me a break! Her stance on nearly every major issue is the antitheses of the stance that Clinton held. Does he really think that women are not smart enough to look at what matters in a candidate. You know those little things, like what are the planks that hold her platform of ideals together and what is her political record in regards to those issues. No thank you McCain - I am no dummy and nether are my fellow female voters. We can't and we wont be lured by sex alone; substance outranks the fact that she is a woman 10 to 1.
This is nothing more than a cheap parlor trick.Comment

Re: McCain/Palin?
what i dont get is this, Obama, knowing he had questionable issues regarding his experience and other topics such as foreing policies, choose someone that could help him not only win an election but would also help him out once that election was won.
Mccain in the other hand just went with the most favorable cliche he could get, i mean, they just went with what could give them the best chance to win this election, not someone qualified enough to run a country in case old man would be relieved of his duty.
i was listening to allan combs on the radio and he asked a quality question, "do you think this woman would be capable of running this country in case mccain was out of office" and if you're a repulican and say yes, then doesnt this cancel out your anoying claim that Obama is not qualified enough to run this country??

This is really really good point. I dont think she would be able to run this country, and with the fact that McCain wil be 72 at the time his term starts if he is elected makes the chances of this happening greater than they have ever been.Comment

Re: McCain/Palin?
either way, we are voting for Biden or Palin.
McCain won't live another 4 years... he will either have a heart attack or a stroke... or worse yet, he will get dementia and all of a sudden think nuking russia or china is a good idea.
If Obama wins, some KKK whacko in the midwest will go apeshit and assassinate him.

ha! I thought about your movie clip when I heard the following today:

Re: McCain/Palin?
It is not because she is a woman. But seriously, previous to being governor she was mayor of a town the size of a housing project in Chicago. And we are suppose to believe she could become Commander and Chief. I think the Republicans are dipping into there own stash.UFUCKINGCUNTCHA!!!!R.I.P. Jib!

Re: McCain/Palin?
It is a fact that many women when they get married and have kids change from voting Democrat to voting Republican. I'm sure they'll get some Hillary voters too and part of McCain's strategy, but I do agree that many women will stay on the Democrat side. My point is not to underestimate that many conservative women will come out to vote for her.Never interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake - Napoleon BonaparteComment

Re: McCain/Palin?
So apparently I wasn't way off-base. McCain really is a reckless fool. I'm glad that apparently anybody with a pulse can become a major leader of this country.
Scholars question Palin credentials
The latest news and headlines from Yahoo News. Get breaking news stories and in-depth coverage with videos and photos.
Presidential scholars say she appears to be the least experienced, least credentialed person to join a major-party ticket in the modern era.“I think she is the most inexperienced person on a major party ticket in modern history,” said presidential historian Matthew Dallek.
“It would be one thing if she had only been governor for a year and a half, but prior to that she had not had major experience in public life,” said Dallek of Palin. “The fact that he would have to go to somebody who is clearly unqualified to be president makes Obama look like an elder statesman.”mixes: www.waxdj.com/miroslavComment

certainly not directed at u Shosh. it was direct towards that Localizer fella, because he left a comment on one of the pictures in my album that said, "did they call this one circle jerk?" i didn't know if he was being sarcastic and rude or just thoughtful, so i commented back "now that was funny"

Re: McCain/Palin?
isnt obama proclaiming change? lol come on man!
btw, it makes me laugh listening to you guys talking about her inexperience and what she hasnt done... hello? obama? what has that assclown done? go look at his district in chicago, hasnt done shit.. also talking about her inexperience with foreign policy... same can be said about obama so give me a break
talking about her ethics scandal? hmmm... ayers, rezko, etc.
funny how when people were bringing this shit up about obama, and his family, etc. it was horrible, but now you all do the same about this bitch... oh the hypocrisy
the fact that she is a gun toting, fishing, snowmobiling, mom, etc woman only points to her being just an ordinary person. or is she too ordinary thus taking away from obama's act as the ordinary guy who in fact is anything but ordinary and a snob?
exploitative? give me a break! think of the reasons obama picked biden.
A few things to consider about Palin: McCain was campaigning for president before she was even elected governor of that state. They met once, ONCE, before he sulked about having to pick her: I say this because his first choice has and was Lieberman, so there should be no question that McCain was more interested in choosing a person who would help him get elected, not a person who was qualified for the job. And further, that he had to pick such a clearly unqualified person by reason that she would bring him votes he would not have otherwise recieved, is indicative of how desperate he is to win the election as opposed to running the government, which even you must believe he wouldn't do well in: you apparently think that her 1.5 years of 'governorship' is better than obama's term in senate, and by greater reason, you must also thus admit that she has more credentials than mccain. This, i think, should make you question whether her short term of governorship even should be discussed. Add this to the recent list of idiot-presidents who have been governor for greater periods of time, and you pretty much should not even bring up 'experience' agian. of anyone.
point two: with all of this serious lack of experience and her remarks about 'not knowing what a vice president does...can someone explain it to me?'....the fact is, she's a heartbeat away from the most serious job on the planet in the most dire of times, a crossroads between tyranny and rekindling freedom. If Obama dies, Biden would have very little problems getting situated in office, and lacking very little qualities that a president would need. Whether you agree with his politics or not, Biden wouldn't cause panic on the markets or in the people. As far as 'exploitative', Obama at least picked someone who adds to his obvious weaker points; foreign policy. That's not exploitation because it's a very thoughtful pick for a person who's made it a point to be a responsible steward of our nation. Palin, is, actually, in fact, nothing but, exploitative.
If McCain dies, and it's very possible he could (cancer, age, ad nauseum), Palin has NOTHING to bring but fishing, hunting, and raising childen (which also should be noted that she has more time being pregnant than being governor). It would be a disastrous power-vacuum with a woman who is so-outside-the beltway now having to manage it; Being outside the 'beltway' is easy talking points to the simple-minded, but to initiated, presents further practical problems of her as a pick. Simply put, McCain has put this country and the future of our country at great risk because of his desire to win, win, win. I'm wondering why Palin even accepted if she was serious about the future of this country. We don't need ordinary average likable people to run this country. We've had that for the last 15 years. Obama, I would say, is hardly ordinary. I don't even recall anyone saying he was accept for yourself. Palin may have been a journalism major, but she didn't get into an elite law school, grade onto law review (a nearly impossible thing, take my word, and probably moreso given the ranking of his law school...and by the way, grading is anonymous so any comments about affirmative action is unwarranted by reality), and then became editor in chief (which I can't say how this works, but it's not a popularity contest).
Don't delude yourself into thinking that Palin is 'change'. To the contrary, it's politicking at it's finest, so much so, that even you have been duped into thinking a no-name unequipped, inexperienced, decent-looking mother-of-who-cares-how-many-children is a satisfactory and exciting pick for McCain. I've read many of your posts over the last few months, and most of the time you're very reasonable and thoughtful with your comments and conclusions. But this strange support for a woman I would bet you hadn't heard of until last wednesday smacks of everything I thought you weren't.
As a conservative-minded person, I can only ask that you don't fall prey to that which you abhor in Obama.
