not that i have any room to talk, since spurs just lost to portsmouth and bolton in succession... but arsenal's unbeaten premiership came to an end today when they were beaten 2-0 by manchester united.
I take it this was a very popular result with you Spurs fans.
Thought the ref (Riley) was a total embarassment - Ferdinand should have had his marching orders, and Rooney dived.
I was disappointed by the the complete lack of brawling this year.

yeah.. ruud should have been sent off too, but the thing is, referees have bad days, the fact is, arsenal still didnt manage to score, and rooney netted one in the closing seconds anyway, would the penalty have mattered? would arsenal have scored if rio or ruud had gone off? i dont know, but i reckon wenger should quit his whining, and deal with the fact that his team, like any other, are not invincible
Having just seen the highlights i agree that Rud should have been sent off, that tackle was just nasty. A little bit of revenge for the Keown incident me feels. Henry did go missing but you`ve got to give it to United, they defended well. Now on to Rooney, well what can you say, he dived, no questions asked. Overall united did deserve the win in my opinion.
Hey DJ Bucko ... I take it that Thierry is off the xmas card list.
Apparently at half time wenger asked him "ou est la va va va voom".

There is no way that Rio should have been sent off, the ref made a good call on that one. I actually think that the ref did really well, he let alot of stuff go, it could have been 9 on 8 by the end of the game.
Rooney's penalty was obviously very soft, but it looked like a penalty on every camera angle except one on slow motion, bit harsh on the ref to have to pick that out from his position.
While the match had already turned Ronaldo should have got a penalty so it sort of evens out but not really.
I don't know how the sideline ref missed Van Nistelrooy's effort on Cole. I must admit when I first saw it I thought he just stood his ground and took a charge but it was a pretty horrible effort. Very lucky to still be on the pitch.
While Arsenal looked the better team, United created much better chances throughout the match. Most of them after the penalty but Arsenal's best shot on goal was Cole's effort near the end that went high. I don't know how United's assault on goal about 20 mins in with about 3 shots blocked, didn't get them a score. Giggs should have easily kicked that goal on the fast break, he kicked it straight to Lehmann. Saha, Smith & Rooney combining at the end was a great goal.
I don't support either team so I'd like to think I'm fairly objective. Rio was by far the best man on the ground, absolutely immense effort.

^were you watching the game? the ref had a good game? old mother riley had a shocker. for the record that's 8 penalties to manure in 8 games at old trafford for him.
that was manure's biggest game of the season. we still outplayed them and they got "lucky" with the referees decisions.

It would have been a miracle for both sides to walk away from this game not blaming the ref
Considering the antics on field from BOTH teams, I think he handled it quite well and let the game flow
You may not have liked the penalty call but Ronaldo had a genuine penalty turned down and it wasn't the only goal scored anyway.
Arsenal may have generally played a better game in the midfield but their attacks just hit a brick wall in the United defence.
United wanted it more and at the end of the day had more genuine chances, Henry was lost.

the look on C*mpbell's face when rooney fell over him was priceless.
I hope they show the footage before the game on Nov 13th. I have my ticket booked. Get In!
Ok, so Arsenal lost, and of course it is the refs fault. Not the fact that they couldn't score, or that they have gotten away with alot of bullshit in their 49 game run. It was bound to happen, but of course Wenger and his crew of pussies, are whinging all the way to the FA.
Maybe Rooney dove, but if he had ran thru Campbells out streched leg wold have cut him down, and possibly injured him. But even if he didnt get that call, what about the non call in the box when Ronaldo was cut down in the area?
As far as Ruud, Cole was flying in too yes he caught him in the knee, but it looked like he was also trying to take position and stand his ground. A yellow card for studs up maybe, byt sent off? come on, thats ridiculous.
And that Rio - Ljunberg affair, for fucks sake, that was contact, incidental, and there was no way Ljunberg was getting to that ball after he heavy footed it out of reach. Ljunberg didnt dive, and Rio didnt take him out.
Riley had a shite match, but only because he let too much go early on, and then had to regain control.
Point being, Arse didnt score, Man U had all the chances, whther they scored the ronney penalty, they would have scored the late goal anyway.
Just sick of seeing Arsenal bitch and complain about every little thing, when Viera is one of the filthiest players in the EPL, and Wenger and his son Henry are the biggest fucking cry babies... and look at that, they are all French! lol
