Both have great players past and present, both are great sports towns both have a long and storied history - no need to make it a dick swingin contest.
Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not; a sense of humor to console him for what he is.
^ I don't think you're being arragont at all, just thought your comment was a little aggressive. By no means could the sox compete with the st. louis cardinals history and championships, however your original comment had to do with competing with legends, not history of championships. Numbers speak for themselves for St. Louis, but actual legends for the teams I think we could compete...
it's not a dick swinging contest, but for the record, check out the title and first post of this thread? um, yeah...fans lob out their dicks all over this board for their sports teams.
i'm so sick of Boston and NY thinking the entire world revolves around them. They're not the only two cities with sports teams. They're not the only two cities with championships. They're not the only two cities with legendary accomplishments and players.
i want STL to win, but if by some horrible circumstance we don't, i will at least take the satisfaction that finally Boston won a world series, and maybe now they can shut the fuck up about it.
here, i'll say something nice about Boston Sox...Manny Ramirez is awesome! Here's a guy who doesn't really give a fuck, misses practice, misses workouts, is lazy, does what he wants, when he wants, and when he does show up to the park, he mashes the fucking baseball 500 ft on command. Curt Shilling, GAMER!! His right foot is about to fall off, and he's still smoking them across the plate mid 90's. Ortizzle, Go Fuck Yourself...lol, damn that guy is a machine. And i've got a lot of respect for Theo Epstein. Harvard grad, with honors, and took control of the Boston RedSox at age 27, with the task of taking down the greatest sports franchise in history, the yanks, how fucking sick is that?? Wish my first job out of college was that, but then again, i went to a party school, not Harvard.
Ted Williams, god bless him hanging upside down in a frozen locker with his head in a mason jar on a shelf somewhere, last man to hit .400 ever, and he did it two straight seasons.
Yaz, one of the best hitters in baseball history.
Cy Young...ffs, they named the pitching award after him. Scoreboard!
Babe, lol, well, you can't really count babe can you.
the list goes on and on, i know, Russ Gibson, Dom Dimaggio, Bruce Hurst, John Tudor (card as well), Carlton freaking Fisk!!
really, i'm taking nothing away from the Sox history, i know my baseball, let's just not forget who the Sox are playing right now.
from the stats they are both offensive teams ... which i guess is who gets to base and comes around the bend to home first, and more often.
Jenks. I am for Cards, but at the moment it ain't looking very pretty for them ... I believe 77% to Boston for being up 2-0. I just would like a series. I watched Boston do it, and I can not see why STL could not.
All the Sox need to do is win tonight and i think they will have a good hold on the series... there really isn't any reason for them not to.. They have there long time ace on the mound.. they need to get back to boston up 3-2.. That is what they should be aiming for i think.. They will probably lose game 5 and six so tonight IMO is a must win if they want to win the series..

Good call, but I think it's a must win for both teams cause SL goes down 3 to 0, it's going to be tough to come back. I know, the sox did it to the yanks...but I just don't think SL would be able to recover with their pitching staff.
Just found out that the Yankees will be opening against the Red Sox in Boston next year. How about that for a slap in the face huh? All of you yYankee fans should really get on the STL bandwagon...STAT! You don't want to see them raise the WS flag at Fenway when the Yanks are there do ya?
pedro certainly isnt in top form lately...i really hope he can pull through for us. If he would just throw more mid to upper ninety mph balls it would help. he just needs to focus and what not. if he fucks up, ill worry a lot more.
Wait fellas I think I smell a Poser!!!
You've said you hate the Sox go A's!!!! Weak lady weak.
ive NEVER said i hate the sox actually..
I really love the A's but my second favorite is the sox. Ive ALWAYS said that.
