Don't let anyone drive you crazy when you know it's in walking distance.

Re: welcome misspent youth
Well thanks everyone.
Appreciate the warm welcome. Just a little info to the board about myself.
Been around the "scene" if that's what you want to call it...lol, for about 10 yrs or so, listening, dj'ing, clubbing, and all the other madness that comes along with it.
Probably know Jamey for around 8 and Clint for close to that through him. I'm currently living in New Orleans not too terribly far from either of him.
And since someone already mentioned it.....With the help of one of my great friends and business partner Marcus, we started a small independent house label, about 5 years ago, that goes by Sugarcane Recordings. Which is probably the accomplishment of mine that I'm the most proud of. You can check out our upcoming release here on our myspace....the conventional website is just a splash page....and yes I know we're cheap :P
A list of some of the artists that we've had:
Swag, Mazi, Tangun, Style of Eye, Phonique, Phonogenic, Morgan Page, Dublex Inc, Jahcoozi, Brett Johnson, Voltique, Dave Dk.....and several others don't feel like naming them all.
But I will shamelessly self promote here....haha
We've got a record coming out late September for anyone who's interested.
It's from the German hip hop electronica maestro Robot Koch w/ vocals from Elle P.
The track is named "Lies" with a B-side tool called "Fever" and has remixes from Trevor Loveys, Jokers of The Scene, Tim Motzer, and Zombie Disco Squad (which will only be available on digital).
The Trevor and Zombie Remixes may be a bit to Fidget for you guys, but the other two are absolutely stellar and a bit of a departure for JoTs and Tim (who has worked as King Britt's producer for years).
We've also got a few more great things coming down the pipe and are now afforded the opportunity to start pumping out a few more records a year due to our recent deal with Music Response as our new distributor.
And if anyone is interested you can look up the back catalogue on any of the major download sites like Beatport, Juno Digital, and iTunes.
But anyway, I'll try not to toot that horn too much :P
And thanks again for the warm welcome.

Shameless self promotion goes down a little easier when accompanied by a delicious house mix, where's the goods?Comment

Re: welcome misspent youth
Alright alright....I'll work something up for you Ryan. I haven't recorded anything in a while so unfortunately it will have to wait till I go pick up my equipment from my dad's place this weekend at the very least. I brought everything over there so it wasn't left in NoLa when I evacuated last weekend. :/Comment

^^ Yeah but it still feels good.Originally posted by ShpiraSo came back last night...
Sven Vath was amazing...he played a god damn killer set...ended up going to that and came to at like 10 am in some whore house in south Amsterdam...no idea how I ended up there...friday was a bit of a blur got really drunk and visited several parties can't remember a whole lot to be honest hehe...saturday was probably the best day that I recall...started up in the nearest coffee shop and going from party to party...beautiful woman, beer and weed...finished the night by taking some shrooms and listening to an amazing elke kleijn set...sunday...i met a nice girl who worked at one of the coffee shops and ended up talking to her for like 6 hours...was supposed to meet her at some DnB party...but instead went for a steak and walked around red light district bars drinking and smoking...monday took it easy went to a coffee shop and took a taxi to airport....
All in all...I think I will be going back there some time soonOriginally posted by IlluminateLet me get this straight.
So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:
1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...
Am I close here?Comment
