Re: Who still listens to the digweed kiss mixes?

You guys live in the past..wake up and move on to today. If you don't like his show anymore then why do you even bother? Instead of moaning about how good he was and how bad he is now, listen to somebody else you like more. You can't blame DJ's for changing their music style..if they move on to something different you don't like you will surely find other DJ's who serve you better.

IMO it's more than disrepectful to moan all the time about DJ's just because of different tastes. If you can't see what people see or feel when they listen to Electro, Minimal House or whatever then it's you and only you, not the DJ. It´s the same with some actors..if they played one time in a very successful comedy, people expect them to make comedy movies for the rest of their lifes but that's just limiting other people's creativity and their freedom to express themselves.

Those who didn't listen to Music in the past and think it really sucks today can say "Here". Our musical interests change from time to time so please give DJ's the same freedom. This post is not directed to the las posting but meant in general as we had more than enough DJ bashing going on here lately..let's use the time better and talk about Music we enjoy. All IMO of course.

I don?t listen to his hour so much recently as I used to do last year.
He plays very electro and tech now and I dont like that. so I prefer listen to metrodance hernnan cattaneo...or things deep progressive in fact...

Re: Who still listens to the digweed kiss mixes?

Still downloading faithfully, but tend to skip through his set and only listen to it fully if I hear something I like. It's more hit and miss these days when it used to be hits all the time.

Just caught him in Singapore too ... was very disappointed with the set unfortunately And I just caught him last year and it was amazing, so can't say I'm comparing him to many moons ago. The set just wasn't well put together. Not much progression, just a mish mash of tribal and mainly electro tunes. Mixing was still spot on but just doesn't have that panache as when he mixes progressive tunes together. I think what was really upsetting about the set were all these ridiculous buildups and breakdowns. Everytime he had a groove going, it was fucked. Sounded like a trance set played with electro tunes. Friend in Malaysia reported the same thing

That said, he's still (one of) the best and I'd love to catch him again.

This is why I hardy post on here anymore and why I stopped listening to Diggers show about 18 months ago. I still think he can mix like no other... and I won't miss seeing him if he's in town. I won't bitch and moan about the past.

I check out the show if I hear particularly good comments about it. Generally I find a few tracks that I really like, but I prefer a prepared set more than someone just playing tracks. As such, I never miss the Guest Mix.

The shows always seem to highlight some no so peaktime friendly
material. There is tends to be one or two tracks that have you searching
for them after a listen or two, but with the large amount of his live mixes
getting around, it is difficult to not get infected with the vortex of sound.
The kiss shows will always be getting rotation on the mothership.

So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:

                          1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
                          2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
                          3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
                          4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...

Listen to diggers show every week and d/l the sets or record them myself. Even though it seems people are losing faith in digweed. He is truely a master in his own right. Until they cancel the show I will probably always listen to his sets.

digweeds goals and purpose for this show are different then when he started. what does he have left to prove? nothing. what hasnt he accomplished? he's getting older and has been doing this awhile. the guestmixes are the highlight by design, digweed has never been a selfish person and wants to bring attention to music he feels is worthy.

it's great if your a fan of diversity because there really is a wide variety of music from his guests. digweeds mixes feature tracks that have all been released within a week or two (+/-) of the show airing. hes doing his part to give exposure to other producers/labels in attempts of furthering the scene. so it's basically just a highlight of recent releases that he happened to mix, quite well usually. so expecting a world changing mix each and every week is a bit naive isnt it?
