this man, driving a BMW M, slightly modified, made it from NYC to Los Angeles in 32 hours and 7 minutes.
i'll give a basic tutorial then let you research it.
he never modded out his engine much, just some intake/exhaust mods
he has 20K of computer and electronic equipment though.
including..
- night vision camera projecting onto his windsheild
- radar equipment on par with that of the US air force
- a few helicopters for scouting
- tons of truck drivers across the country on CB radio
yes, in a fairly normal M5 (speed wise) he did the US cannonball run in a time that would make nigel mansell and the late aryton senna blush.

PS the nighttime driving was done with his headlights OFF using the night vision. that way, any troopers who were hiding out didnt see him, they only heard him pass them at over 130 MPH.
