    Scope - Studio Sessions Vol.I [Urban//Torque]

    Scope - Studio Sessions Vol.I

    1. ‘Quid Pro Quo’
    2. ‘Quid Pro Quo’ (Office Gossip Remix)
    3. ‘Drop It’
    4. ‘That Deep Track’
    5. ‘Tears’
    6. ‘Firefly’
    7. ‘Tempest’
    8. ‘Urbano Noche’
    9. ‘That Deep Track’ (Steve Mill Remix)
10.‘That Deep Track’ (Jon Silva’s Deeply Deconstructed Dub)

Ric McClelland’s development as a producer has been nothing short of impressive. Under the alias Scope, he’s fast become renowned for solid deep and straight-up house that harks back to the heady sounds of the early ‘90s whilst staunchly keeping a pace with today’s dancefloor. Since his scintillating debut release, ‘Strung Out’ on Urban Torque, Scope’s killer sound has turned the ears of a diverse bunch including Sander Kleinenberg, Jimpster, Silicone Soul, Fish Go Deep and Eric Prydz.

Following a string of celebrated releases on Urban Torque, Large, NRK, Forensic and Plastic City, ‘Studio Sessions Vol. 1’ exclusively brings together the pedigree of Scope’s latest output. The quality and diversity of this extended EP demonstrates the ripening talent of this prolific producer. From the feel-good house of ‘That Deep Track’ to the intense build-up of ‘Tempest’, this record bears the mark a dancefloor master who’s here to stay.

The package also includes tasty remixes from Office Gossip, Steve Mill and Jon Silva, and a bonus mixed edition is available, mixed by the fair hand of label honcho, Leigh Morgan.

1.‘Quid Pro Quo’ – Scope jumps straight in there with a heavy party pleaser. A techy, bouncy, fragmented number subtly softened with uplifting synth swirls.

    2. ‘Quid Pro Quo’ (Office Gossip Remix) – Catches you like a wave and carries you on its groove towards heartening chords and deep house satisfaction.

    3. ‘Drop It’ – A track that’s full of beans and at the disco with bells on. Lively and endearing with speaker-rocking warbling bass.

4.‘That Deep Track’ – Feel good factor 50, this is a beautifully textured, blisteringly hot, happy-go-lucky track that comes with guaranteed smiles.

    5. ‘Tears’ – A funky slice of electronic-disco-come-classic-rave with a frenzy-inducing breakdown for the crowd.

6.‘Firefly’ – A trippy mesmeriser that builds insidiously and nods knowingly back to early house.

7.‘Tempest’ – Drama-soaked this one. Percussion snaps, steel drums tickle and strings slide ominously as the tension heightens.

8.‘Urbano Noche’ – Straight-up house with a Latin twist and a melancholy, soulful melody.

9.‘That Deep Track’ (Steve Mill Remix) – An absorbing, sweeping, pensive and emotive rework from the epic Greek.

10.‘That Deep Track’ (Jon Silva’s Deeply Deconstructed Dub) – Jon Silva pulls the track right back and gently, delicately releases.
