im now a member of a small but growing group of americans who have fallen victim to credit card fraud.. my bank statement would seem to reflect that i have an odd love for the finer things you can find at rural truck (fuel) stops in texas... not to sure how whoever got my numbers to my debit card, but they went on over a 1g tear of shopping of getting low rent porn & stuffed animals, along with a few t shirts & trucker hats... i would imagine they used some sort of scanning device either planted at the gas pump, an atm machine, or some untrustworthy waiter. then copied my info onto another bank card, ran it a few times for a dollar or so to make sure it was a legit number, then went after it.. BUT on the other hand, it may be that the person knew somone on the inside of the gas stations, that essentially helped the perp "wash" the money.. ie. buy things, then return it for the money....
good news - 1) i caught it extremely early
2) i will get all my money back
bad news - 1) it is already a pain in my ass
2) my account is frozen now & will be for up to about 4-5 weeks
3) i am going to have to fill out all sorts of paperwork to clear it & my name up.
big ups to my broke azz
