Any James fans? I listened to them a lot in the early nineties, especially during altered states that were very conducive to that Madchester\Hacienda sound. Wah Wah is one hell of a trippy album thanks to Brian Eno. Totally forgot they existed during the mid and late nineties then really got interested in them again when my wife (then fiance) two years ago brought up the name. Tim Booth (singer) is actually from her Mum's hometown of Bradford.

Got to see them in Oxford when we were in England last Spring and going to see them this Monday in Denver. Could not believe we got the chance to see them since they broke up four years prior and just got back together and made the Hey Ma album. Just wondering if any other old fogies on the board had a place for James in their hearts. They are an incredible live band and currently on a small US tour, http://www.wearejames.com/live/

One of the funnier things about the band is the success of their opening acts. Radiohead, Nirvana, The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and Coldplay all opened for James before they hit it big only to go on to more success than James themselves.

There are some quality 'pop' songs in their catalogue. I think their Please to Meet You album is sublime but Seven and Wah Wah bring back all kinds of memories.

James - the band - wearejames.com - what a night!

1400 people feeding off the bands great musicality and enthusiasm. I had forgotten what a large sound they have live. 7 members all contributing - and so tight, they can stop and start a song with absolute precision. Build crsecendo's and drop back to almost no sound with ease. Just amazing. The new tracks held up very well live and a whole load of oldies thrown in for good measure. The band really seem to enjoy themselves. The front man dances like an epileptic. Lots of unique attributes to this live set - I wont spoil the surprise for Highdesert and his wifey.

Last time I saw James was with 50,000 people at a festival - so good to see them live in a small venue and see the audience react so positively.

When you see bands that have so much talent - great musicians, a singer that has a range and can hold a note - it makes me wonder (and get frustrated) at why the music biz supports such talentless hacks as Ashlee Simpson etc etc who have no discernible talent whatsoever.

As a small aside we were treated to an extra support slot from Amy MacDonald - whose first album got really good reviews - she was great with a live band- she should do well.

9.9999/10 for the gig! superb.
